Abstract

Vaporización de ácido acético en presencia de hidrógeno para proporcionar una corriente de alimentación de vapor para un procedimiento de hidrogenación que produce etanol; el vaporizador forma una corriente de alimentación de vapor y una corriente de purga que tienen una relación en peso de la corriente de alimentación de vapor a la corriente del purga de por lo menos 2:1; el ácido acético puede vaporizarse a una temperatura debajo del punto de ebullición del ácido acético a la presión de trabajo del reactor; el procedimiento de hidrogenación produce un producto crudo de etanol y el etanol se separa del producto crudo; además, se puede separar también por lo menos una corriente de recirculación que comprende ácido acético y menos de 1.0% en peso de compuestos que tienen un punto de ebullición más alto que el del ácido acético; las corrientes de recirculación se pueden introducir al vaporizador junto con el ácido acético formar la corriente de alimentación de vapor.
