Abstract
La presente invención proporciona un método y aparato para producir una corriente que contiene hidrocarburo tratado para uso como una alimentación de un reformador de vapor de metano de una planta de hidrógeno. De acuerdo con este método, las cantidades de olefinas y especies de sulfuro orgánico dentro de una alimentación no tratada son disminuidas en un reactor que es operado sea en modo de hidrogenación para hidrogenar las olefinas en hidrocarburos saturados o un modo pre-reformador en el cual el hidrocarburo que contiene dos o más átomos de carbono incluyendo las olefinas son reaccionadas con oxígeno y el vapor para formar hidrocarburos saturados, metano, hidrógeno adicional y monóxido de carbono. El reactor es configurado y opera en una velocidad de espacio suficientemente alta que el deslizamiento de olefina y especies orgánicas ocurre y son posteriormente tratados en un hidrotratador. El reactor contiene un catalizador capaz de promover tanto la reacción de hidrogenación como la de oxidación y el hidrotratador contiene un catalizador que es capaz de únicamente promover las reacciones de hidrogenación.
