Abstract

Se divulgan formulaciones de poliuretano termoplástico (TPU) que comprenden un retardante a la flama halogenado junto con un óxido de antimonio y talco. Las formulaciones exhiben un LOl alto (por lo menos 30) y se clasifican V-0 en la prueba UL-94. El retardante a la flama halogenado puede ser un compuesto dorado o bromado. El compuesto de óxido de antimonio se selecciona del grupo que consiste de trióxido de antimonio y pentaóxido de antimonio. Cuando se utilizan retardantes a la flama bromados, el talco no es requerido, pero es preferido cumplir el LOl alto y la clasificación V-0. Las formulaciones de TPU son útiles para las aplicaciones de forrado de alambre y cable y para el forrado para cables de fibra óptica.
