Un proceso para la preparaci?n de alcoholes de poli?ter reaccionando cuando menos un ?xido de alquileno con cuando menos un iniciador insaturado que tiene cuando menos un ?tomo de hidr?geno activo por mol?cula bajo cat?lisis b?sica, que la alcoxilaci?n se lleva a cabo en cuando menos dos etapas, en la etapa (I) la alcoxilaci?n del iniciador o iniciadores siendo llevada a cabo con no m?s de 10 moles de ?xido de alquileno por mol de iniciador con una concentraci?n de catalizador de no m?s de 0.0085 moles de catalizador b?sico por mol y en la etapa (II) y las opcionalmente siguientes etapas, el iniciador o iniciadores alcoxiladas de la etapa (I) haci?ndolo reaccionar con ?xido de alquileno adicional a una concentraci?n de catalizador de cuando menos 0.01 mol de catalizador b?sico por mol de iniciador.
