Abstract
Se describen un proceso y un aparato para la separación de burbujas adsortiva de partículas hidrofóbicas a partir de dispersiones de líquido. El proceso se puede utilizar para tratar la dispersión de gas/líquido después de que se ha introducido desde dos o más conductos cerca del perímetro o desde un conducto central del recipiente de separación. Cuando la dispersión de gas-líquido-partículas se introduce desde un conducto central, las burbujas ascendentes se dirigen mediante, por ejemplo, un deflector hacia el perímetro del aparato, donde suben. En la superficie líquida, las burbujas con los materiales hidrofóbicos unidos forman una capa de espuma de flotación, que se dirige hacia un canalizo de recolección de espuma central. La espuma ascendente en el perímetro que empuja el lecho de espuma dentro del área reducida del centro favorece la coalescencia adicional de las burbujas e incrementa el drenaje de líquido desde la espuma, conduciendo de esta manera a una concentración de los materiales recolectados sin la necesidad por una geometría de equipo compleja. También se divulga una mejora para los procesos de flotación de espuma que comprende utilizar un vacío para jalar la espuma y/o espuma colapsada dentro y a través del canalizo de recolección de espuma y la línea de drenaje de espuma. Esta mejora ayuda a la recolección de espuma debido a que la espuma se puede jalar por succión a través del sistema de recolección más fácilmente que se puede drenar por gravedad.
