Abstract
Un sensor electroquímico de prueba que detecta la concentración de analito de una muestra de prueba de fluido incluye una base, una capa dieléctrica, una capa de reactivo y una tapa. La base proporciona una vía de flujo para la muestra de prueba que tiene sobre su superficie un contraelectrodo y un electrodo de trabajo que son adaptados para comunicarse en forma eléctrica con un detector de corriente eléctrica. La capa dieléctrica forma una ventana dieléctrica a través de la misma. La capa de reactivo incluye una enzima que es adaptada para reaccionar con el analito. La tapa es adaptada para acoplarse con la base y para ayudar a formar un espacio de capilaridad con un orificio para la introducción de la muestra de prueba en el mismo. Al menos una porción del ancho del contraelectrodo es más grande que el ancho del electrodo de trabajo. La figura más representativa de la invención es la número 1.
