Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un metodo para reducir la difusión de iones de metales alcalinos desde un vidrio que los contiene dentro de una capa sobrepuesta, dicho metodo comprende proporcionar, entre el vidrio y la capa sobrepuesta, un revestimiento transparente de barrera que contiene silicio y oxígeno aplicados por pirólisis de un gas de silano, caracterizado porque el silano es pirolizado sobre la superficie del vidrio a una temperatura mayor de 600 grados C, en la presencia de un compuesto gaseoso donador de electrones, por lo cual el oxígeno procedente del vidrio se incorpora con el silicio, para formar un revestimiento transparente de barrera de hasta 50 nm de espesor, sobre la superficie del vidrio.
