Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a metodo para impedir o retardar la formación de niveles indeseables de fosfina en un espacio o ambiente, siendo derivada la fosfina de composiciones capaces de liberar fosfina, particularmente las que comprenden fosfuros metálicos hidrolizables, por el retardo de la inciación de la generación de fosfina y/o por la eliminación de la fosfina ya generada, caracterizado porque la composición capaz de liberar fosfina es una composición sustancialmente exenta de componentes capaces de desprender amoníaco y se coloca y mantiene en la proximidad inmediata de una zeolita de un tamaño de poros de al menos 0,3 nm y capacidad de adsorción para vapor de agua, fosfina gaseosa o ambos y opcionalmente es sometida a una etapa subsiguiente de desprender la fosfina adsorbida por la zeolita, en un ambiente destinado a ser sometido a control de plagas.
