Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para fabricar un pistón para motores de combustión interna, incorporando dicho pistón por lo menos un miembro reforzador metálico provisto con poros abiertos, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de: a) calentar el al menos un miembro reforzador metálico y colocarlo en una matriz previamente calentada; b) vaciar dentro de la matriz una cierta cantidad de aluminio fundido o de aleación de aluminio fundido; c) introducir un punzón dentro de la matriz de manera que se provoque la compresión del aluminio o la aleación de aluminio cuando solidifica, con lo que el metal comprimido rodea al por lo menos un miembro reforzador metálico, llenando los poros del al menos un miembro reforzador metálico y formando el pistón; d) después de solidificar, retirar de la matriz el pistón que incorpora el al menos un miembro reforzador metálico, y maquinar el pistón a sus dimensiones finales.
