Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una composición apra el crecimiento de plantas, que comprende una mezcla de borlas de lana mineral, partículas de material de intercambio de cationes, seleccionado a partir del grupo que consiste en vermiculita y perlita; y partículas de resina de fenol-formaldehído, la resina teniendo un pH ácido. El método para hacer un medio para el crecimiento de plantas, que comprende mezclar fibra de lana mineral con partículas de vermiculita expandida y resina pulverizada de fenol-formaldehído que tiene un pH ácido, el mezclado siendo continuo hasta euq la lana mineral forma borlas de aproximadamente 2.54 cms. de diámetro y, a continuaci´son someter la mezcla a un molino de martillos hasta que las borlas se reducen en tamaño a aproximadamente 0.318 cm a 1.27 cm de diámetro.
