Invenţia se referă la industria alimentară, şi anume la producerea conservelor din năut în sos de tomate.Procedeul de producere a conservelor din năut în sos de tomate include curăţarea năutului, înmuierea lui în apă, blanşarea cu aburi, răcirea în apă, preambalarea şi turnarea deasupra lui a sosului de tomate după ce se efectuează astuparea şi sterilizarea produsului obţinut. Sosul de tomate care se toarnă deasupra năutului conţine pastă de tomate, sare de bucătărie, zahăr, piper aromat, frunze de busuioc, de cimbru, de dafin şi tulpini de ţelină.
