Abstract

본 발명은 액정 표시 장치에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따르면, 상판 글래스(11, 21), 하판 글래스(12, 22), 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)와 하판 글래스(12, 22) 사이에 주입되는 액정 및 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)와 하판 글래스(12, 22)에 형성되는 코몬 전극 및 세그먼트 전극을 구비하는 액정 표시 장치에 있어서, 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)의 일부에는 세그먼트 전극(13, 25)이 형성되고, 나머지 일부에는 코몬 전극(15, 26)이 형성되며, 상기 하판 글래스(11, 21)에는 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)의 세그먼트 전극(13, 25)에 대응되는 부분에 코몬 전극(16, 27)이 형성되고, 나머지 부분에는 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)의 코몬 전극(15, 26)에 대응되는 부분에 세그먼트 전극(14, 28)이 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치가 제공된다. 본 발명에 다른 양면형 액정 표시 장치는 단일의 액정 셀만을 가지고 전면 및 배면에서 동일한 정보를 관찰할 수 있으므로 편의성이 증진된다.

Claims (3)

  1. 상판 글래스(11, 21), 하판 글래스(12, 22), 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)와 하판 글래스(12, 22) 사이에 주입되는 액정 및 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)와 하판 글래스(12, 22)에 형성되는 코몬 전극 및 세그먼트 전극을 구비하는 액정 표시 장치에 있어서, 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)의 일부에는 세그먼트 전극(13, 25)이 형성되고, 나머지 일부에는 코몬 전극(15, 26)이 형성되며, 상기 하판 글래스(11, 21)에는 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)의 세그먼트 전극(13, 25)에 대응되는 부분에 코몬 전극(16, 27)이 형성되고, 나머지 부분에는 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)의 코몬 전극(15, 26)에 대응되는 부분에 세그먼트 전극(14, 28)이 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 상판 글래스(11, 21)의 코몬 전극(15, 26)에 대응되는 부분 및 상기 하판 글래스(12, 22)의 코몬 전극(16, 27)에 대응되는 부분에 백라이트 수단(23, 24)이 설치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 백라이트 수단(23, 24)은 냉음극 형광관(CCFT), 발광소자(LED), 전자 형광 소자(ELD) 등인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
