Claims (26)

  1. (a) 알루미나 수화물 및 유효량의 지르고니아 입자(상기 입자의 약 97중량% 이상은 그 크기가 약 0.2/㎛이하임)의 졸을 포함하는 분산액을 제조하는 단계; (b) 상기 분산액으로부터 알루미나베이스 그릿을 형성시키는 단계; 및 (c) 상기 알루미나 베이스 그릿을 소결시켜 연마 입자를 제공하는 단계를 포함하여, 연마 입자물질을 제조하는 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 분산액이 수성 분산액이며, 상기 (c)의 소결 단계 전에 단계 (b)의 알루미나 베이스 그릿을 하소시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 제조 방법.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 분산액이 지르고니아를 내부에 충분히 함유하여, 상기 연마 입자가 지르코니아를 약 0.1 내지 약 5O중량% 함유하도록 하는 제조 방법.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 단계 (a)의 지르고니아졸이 약 50중량% 이상이 약 0.05㎛ 이하의 크기를 갖는 콜로이드성 지르코니아 입자 약 15 내지 약 40중량%를 함유하는 제조 방법.
  5. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 수성 분산액이 물 약 30 내지 약 80중량%를 함유하는 제조 방법.
  6. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 수성 분산액이 성핵 물질을 추가로 함유하는 제조 방법.
  7. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 수성 분산액이 금속 산화물 전구물질을 추가로 함유하는 제조 방법.
  8. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 소결 단계전에, 상기 하소된 알루미나 베이스 그릿을 금속 산화물 전구물질로 함침시키는 단계를 포함하는 제조 방법.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속 산화물 전구물질이 이트리아, 산화 미그네슘 및 희토류 산화물로 구성되는 군에서 선택되는 산화물의 전구물질이고, 상기 알루미나 수화물이 약 70 내지 약 95중량%의 알루미나를 갖는 상기 연마 입자를 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 상기 분산액중에 존재하며, 상기 알루미나는 알파 알루미나, 알루미나 반응 생성물(들), 또는 이들의 조합체중 하나로서 존재하고; 상기 지르코니아 입자는 약 0.1 내지 약15중량%의 지르코니아를 갖는 상기 연마 입자를 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 상기 분산액중에 존재하며, 상기 지르코니아는 지르코니아 또는 지르코니아와 지르코니아의 반응 생성물(들)중 하나로서 상기 소결된 연마 입자내에 존재하고; 상기 금속 산화물 전구물질은 약 0.5중량% 이상의 하나 이상의 금속 산화물을 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 존재하며, 상기 금속 산화물은 금속 산화물, 금속 산화물의 반응 생성물(들), 또는 이들의 조합체중 하나로서 존재하고, (i) 상기 희토류 산화물은 프라세오디뮴, 사마륨, 이테르븀, 네오디뮴, 란타늄, 가돌리늄, 세륨, 디스프로슘, 에르븀 및 이들의 혼합물의 산화물로 구성되는 군에서 선택되며; (ii) 상기 이트리아, 산화마그네슘 및 희토류 산화물 각각은, 존재하는 경우 약 1O중량% 이하로 제공되는 제조 방법.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 이트리아 전구물질이 약 0.5 내지 약 10중량%의 이트리아를 갖는 연마 입자를 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 존재하는 제조 방법.
  11. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 산화 마그네슘 전구물질이 약 0.5 내지 약 1.5중량%의 산화 마그네슘을 갖는 상기 연마 입자를 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 존재하고, 상기 희토류 산화물 전구물질이 약 0.5 내지 약 5중량%의 희토류 산화물을 갖는 상기 연마 입자를 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 존재하는 제조 방법.
  12. 제9항의 방법에 따라 제조한 연마 입자.
  13. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 하소 단계전에, 상기 알루미나 베이스 그릿 및 상기 하소된 알루미나 베이스 그릿중 하나 이상을 금속 산화물(들), 이것의 전구물질 및 이들의 조합체로 구성되는 군에서 선택되는 물질로 코팅시키는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 소결된 연마 입자는 소결된 코어 및 금속 산화물 코팅을 함유하는 제조 방법.
  14. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 분산액이 이트리아, 산화 마그네슘 및 희토류 산화물로 구성되는 군애서 선택되는 산화물의 금속 산화물 전구물질을 추가로 포함하고, 상기 알루미나 수화물이 약 70 내지 약 95중량%의 알루미나를 갖는 상기 연마 입자를 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 상기 분산액중에 존재하며, 상기 알루미나는 알파 알루미나, 알루미나 반응 생성물(들), 또는 이들의 조합체중 하나로서 존재하고; 상기 지르고니아 입자는 약 0.1내지 약 15중량%의 지르고니아를 갖는 상기 연마 입자를 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 상기 분산액중에 존재하며, 상기 지르고니아는 지르고니아 또는 지르고니아와 지르고니아의 반응 생성물(들)중 하나로서 상기 소결된 연마입자내에 존재하고; 상기 금속 산화물 전구물질은 약 0.5 중량% 이상의 하나 이상의 금속 산화물을 제공하기에 충분한 양으로 존재하며, 상기 금속 산화물은 금속 산화물, 금속 산화물의 반응 생성물(들), 또는 이들의 조합체중 하나로서 존재하고, (i) 상기 희토류 산화물은 프라세오디뮴, 사마륨, 이테르븀, 네오디뮴, 란타늄, 가돌리늄, 세륨, 디스프로슘, 에르븀 및 이들의 혼합물의 산화물로 구성되는 군에서 선택되며; (ii) 상기 이트리아, 산화 마그네슘 및 희토류 산화물 각각은, 존재하는 경우 약 10중량% 이하로 제공되는 제조 방법.
  15. 제2항의 방법에 따라 제조한 연마 입자.
  16. 알파 알루미나 및 약 0.05 내지 약 1㎛ 크기의 지르고니아 입자를 포함하며, 상기 지르고니아 입자중 대다수는 알파 알루미나 결정들 사이에 불규칙적으로 그리고 균일하게 분포하는 연마 입자.
  17. 제16항에 있어서, 이트리아 반응 생성물(들)로서 존재하는 이트리아 및 산화 마그네슘 반응 생성물(들)로서 존재하는 산화 마그네슘을 포함하는 연마 입자.
  18. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 알파 알루미나가 성핵재에 의해 핵화되는 알파 알루미나를 포함하는 연마 입자.
  19. 제16항에 있어서, (a) 알파 알루미나 또는 상기 알파 알루미나와 알루미나의 반응 생성물(들)중 하나로서 존재하는 알루미나 약 70 내지 약 95중량%; (b) 지르고니아 입자 또는 상기 지르코니아 입자와 지르고니아의 반응 생성물(들)중 하나로서 존재하는 지르고니아 약 0.1 내지 약 15중량%; (c) 산화 마그네슘의 반응 생성물(들)로서 존재하는 산화 마그네슘 약 0.5내지 약 1.5중량96; 및 (d) 프라세오디뮴, 사마륨, 이테르븀, 네오디뮴, 란타늄, 가돌리늄, 세륨, 디스프로슘, 에르븀 및 이들의 혼합물의 산화물로 구성되는 군에서 선택되며, 희토류 산화물, 희토류 산화물의 반응 생성물(들), 또는 이들의 조합체중 하나로서 존재하는 희토류 산화물약 O.1 내지 약 5중량%를 함유하는 연마 입자.
  20. 제19항에 있어서, 이트리아의 반응 생성물(들)로서 존재하는 이트리아 약 0.5 내지 약 10중량%를 함유하는 연마 입자.
  21. 제20항에 의한 연마 입자인 코어 및 그 상의 금속 산화물로 된 표면 코팅을 포함하는 연마 입자.
  22. (a) 결합제(5,6,64); 및 (b) 상기 결합제(5,6,64)에 의해 연마제품(1,10)내에 보유되는 제16항에 의한 다수의 연마 입자(4,11,52)를 함유하는 연마 제품(1,10).
  23. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 연마 제품(10)이 연마 월인 연마 제품(10).
  24. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 연마 제품이 컷오프인 연마 제품.
  25. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 연마 제품이 부직 연마 생성물인 연마 제품.
