본 발명은 광학황성테트라히드로피란유도체 그것을 함유하는 액정조성물 및 액정소자에 관한것이다.
2. 발명이 해결하려고 하는 기술적 과제
새로운 형의 액정으로서 유망하고 자발분극이 크고 고속응답성이 우수한 테트라히드로피란고리를 갖는 신규의 광학활성화합물을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
3. 발명의 해결방법의 요지
1. 일반식(I) 또는(I')
[식중 기호는 명세서에 기재된 것과 같다]로 표시되는 광학활성 테트라히드로피란유도체.
4. 발명의 중요한 용도
본 발명은 표시소자 혹은 전기광학소자에 사용되는 액정재료로서 유용한 신규의 광학활성테트라히드로피란 유도체, 그것을 함유하는 액정조성물 및 액정소자에 관한것이다.

Claims (4)

  1. 일반식(I) 또는(I')
    [식중 Rf는 탄소수 1 또는 2의 플루오르알킬기를 나타내고 R1은 탄소수 3~20의 곧은사슬 또는 분지사슬알킬기를 나타내고 R2및 R3은 각각 독립적으로 수소 또는 탄소수 1~15의 곧은사슬 또는 분지사슬알킬기, 탄소수 2~15의 알케닐기 또는 탄소수 7~10의 아랄킬기를 나타내고, R4,R5및 R6은 각각 독립적으로 수소 또는 탄소수 1~15의 곧은사슬 또는 분지사슬알킬기, 탄소수 2~15의 알케닐기, 탄소수 6~10의 아릴기, 또는 탄소수 7~10의 아릴킬기를 나타내고 X1은 -COO-, -OCO-, -O- 또는 단결합을 나타내고, X2는 -COO, -OCO-, -CH2O-, -CC- 또는 단결합을 나타내고 X3은 -COO-, -CH2O-, 또는 -O-를 나타내고 Si는 규소를 나타내고 *는 비대칭탄소를 나타내고 A 및 B는 각각 독립적으로 치환 또는 무치환의 함6각고리기를 나타내고 n은 0 또는 1을 나타낸다]로 표시되는 광학활성테트라히드로피란유도체.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 일반식(I) 또는 (I')에 있어서, A 및 B가 각각 독립적으로,
    의 어느것인가를 나타내는 광학활성테트라히드로피란유도체.
  3. (a) 청구항 1 또는 2기재의 광학활성테트라히드로피란유도체의 적어도 1종과 (b) 상기한 (a)이외의 카이랄스메C상(SmC*)를 갖는 화합물 또는 혼합물 및/또는 (c) 상기한 (a)이외의 스메틱C상(SmC)를 갖는 화합물 또는 혼합물로된 액정조성물.
  4. 청구항 1 또는 2기재의 광학활성테트라히드로피란유도체 또는 청구항 3기재의 액정조성물을 한쌍의 전극기판간에 배치한것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자.
