제1도는 강유전성 액정(FLC)조성물의 액정분자 설계파라미터와 액정분자의 외관산의 콘각 θ과의 적 :θ에 대한 콘트라스트의 변화를 도시한 그래프,
제2도는 상기θ에 대한 상승시간(응답속도)의 변화를 도시한 그래프,
제3도는 FLC의 분자의 동작을 설명하기 위한 그래프,
제4도는 카이럴액정분자를 예시한 각 구조식,
제5도는 논카이럴베이스재료를 예시한 각 구조식.

Claims (5)

  1. 액정분자 설계파라미터와; 액정분자의 외관상의 콘각 θ과 의 적 :θ이, 12.5≤θ≤16(단,=(전계에 의한 스위칭 전후에서의 액정분자의 알킬쇄부의 적외피크강도비)/(전계에 의한 스위칭 전후에서의 액정 분자의 코어부의 적외선피크강도비), θ는 전계에 의한 스위칭시에 액정분자가 가상적인 원추면상을 돌때, 그 원추면을 가진 콘이 이루는 외관상의 정각(頂角)임)인 강유전성 액정조성물.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 13≤θ≤15인 강유전성 액정조성물.
  3. 제1항에 기재한 액정분자 설계파라미터와, 카이럴액정분자를 구성하는 리지드부에 대한 플렉시블부의 길이의 비와의 적 : δ=ㆍ(플렉시블부의 길이/리지드부의 길이)이, δ≤0.5인 강유전성 액정조성물.
  4. 내용 없음
  5. 제1항 내지 제4항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 카이럴스멕틱 강유전성 액정분자를 함유하고, 이 강유전성 액정분자가 방향족기(芳香族基) 사이가 직접결합 되어있는 방향족 화합물과, 방향족기 사이가 에스테르결합으로 연결되어 있는 방향족 화합물의 최소한 하나로 이루어지는 강유전성 액정조성물.
