Abstract

전기적 커넥터 회로 웨이퍼 반도체 웨이퍼는 전기적 커넥터의 핀에 해당하는 그 내부에 복수의 구멍을 가지고 있다.
웨이퍼는 그 위의 회로 및 핀과의 전기적 접속을 이루기 위한 접촉부를 포함한다. 이와 같은 방식으로, 웨이퍼상의 회로는 핀에 의하여 보내지는 신호를 테스트 또는 수정하는 것과 같은 다양한 목적을 위하여 사용될 수 있다.
웨이퍼는 커넥터를 미리 수정 또는 준비하거나 결합된 커넥터 쌍의 정상의 접합 또는 기능을 손상시킴이 없이 어떤 공통의 전기적 커넥터 쌍에도 설치될 수 있다.

Claims (34)

  1. 암 커넥터내의 소켓과 결합하는 수 케이블 커넥터내의 복수의 핀에 전기적 접속을 이루기 위한 디바이스에 있어서, 수 커넥터내의 핀을 따라 정렬된 그 내부의 일련의 구멍을 가지며, 핀이 구멍을 통하여 뻗을 수 있도록 수 커넥터에 삽입 가능하게 되어 있는 웨이퍼; 핀상의 전기적 신호를 사용하기 위한 웨이퍼상의 회로 수단; 핀이 웨이퍼의 구멍을 통하여 뻗어있는 핀과 회로수단 사이에 전기적 접촉을 이루기 위한 접촉 수단을 구비하고 있는 디바이스.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 웨이퍼가 반도체 물질로 이루어진 디바이스.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 회로 수단이 반도체 웨이퍼내에 형성된 집적 회로로 구성되어 있는 디바이스.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 회로 수단이 핀상의 신호가 예정된 레벨을 초과할 때 녹는(melting) 접촉 수단에 접속된 적어도 하나의 퓨즈를 정의하기 위한 반도체 웨이퍼상의 수단을 구비한 디바이스.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 커넥터는 각각 금속성 쉘을 포함하고, 웨이퍼와 한 쉘 사이에 분리가능한 전기적 접속을 이루기 위한 제2의 접촉수단을 더 구하고 있는 디바이스.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 웨이퍼상의 회로 수단과 원격 제어기 사이에서 정보를 수신 및 전송하기 위한 통신 수단을 더 구비하고 있는 디바이스.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 통신 수단이 웨이퍼상의 광학 송수신기 수단; 커넥터로부터 떨어져 있는 원격 광학 송수신기 수단; 및 웨이퍼상의 송수신기와 원격 송수신기 사이에서 광학 신호를 전송하기 위한 광 도파관 수단을 구비하고 있는 디바이스.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 광도파관 수단이 스트립의 한쪽 끝이 웨이퍼상의 송수신기에 접속되어 있고, 스트립의 다른쪽 끝은 원격 송수신기에 접속되어 있는 암 및 수 커넥터의 쉘 사이에 뻗어 있는 유연한 스트립(flexible strip)을 구비하고 있는 디바이스.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 접촉 수단이 금속성 디스크를 구비하는데 각 디스크는 디스크내의 개구(aperture)에서 끝나는 안쪽으로 뻗은 복수의 가요성 핑거(bendable finger)를 가지며, 각 디스크의 외부 림 부분(outer rimportions)은 디스크내의 개구(aperture)가 웨이퍼내의 구멍(hole)을 따라 정렬되도록 웨이퍼에 접속되어 있고, 핀은 개구를 통하여 뻗어있고, 가요성 핑거는 핀과 웨이퍼 사이의 전기적 접속을 이루고 있는 디바이스.
  10. 외부 금속성 쉘 및 전자 장비에 전기적 신호를 전자 장비에 보내는 복수의 전기적 전도성 핀을 갖는 전기적 수 커넥터; 외부 금속성 쉘 및 수 커넥터의 핀을 받아들이기 위한 복수의 소켓을 갖는 수 커넥터; 반도체 웨이퍼가 핀을 소켓에 결합시키기 위해 암 및 수 커넥터가 서로 결합될 수 있도록 충분히 얇고, 상기 웨이퍼는 핀과 웨이퍼 사이에 분리가능한 전기적 접촉을 이루기 위한 접촉 수단을 가져 이것에 의해 웨이퍼가 삽입되고 수 커넥터의 쉘의 내부로부터 분리될 수 있게 접촉 수단을 통하여 수 커넥터상의 핀과 전기적으로 통신하기 위한 회로 수단을 포함하고 있는 반도체 웨이퍼로 구성되며 이로인해 웨이퍼는 핀과 이것에 연결된 전자 장비에 간단한 전기적 접속을 제공하는 장치.
  11. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 회로 수단이 반도체 웨이퍼상에 형성된 집적 회로로 구성되는 장치.
  12. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 회로 수단이 핀상의 신호가 예정된 레벨을 초과할때 녹게되는 접촉 수단에 연결된 적어도 하나의 퓨즈를 정의하기 위한 반도체 웨이퍼상의 수단을 구비하고 있는 장치.
  13. 제10항에 있어서, 웨이퍼 및 한 쉘 사이에 분리가능한 전기적 접속을 이루기 위한 제2접촉 수단을 더 구비하고 있는 장치.
  14. 제10항에 있어서, 웨이퍼 상의 회로 수단과 연격 제어기 사이에서 정보를 수신 및 전송하기 위한 양방향 통신 수단을 더 구비하고 있는 장치.
  15. 제14항에 있어서, 양방향 통신 수단이 웨이퍼 상의 광학 송수신기 수단; 커넥터로 부터 떨어져 있는 원격 광학 송수신기 수단과; 웨이퍼상의 송수신기와 원격 송수신기 사이에서 광학 신호를 잔송하기 위한 광 도파관 수단을 구비하고 있는 장치
  16. 제15항에 있어서, 광 도파관 수단이 스트립의 한쪽끝은 웨이퍼상의 송수신기에 접속되어 있고, 스트립의 다른쪽 끝은 원격 송수신기에 접속되어 있는 암 및 수 커넥터의 쉘 사이에 뻗어있는 유연한 스트립으로 구성되어 있는 장치.
  17. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 접촉 수단은 금속성 디스크를 구비하는데 각 디스크는 디스크내의 개구에서 끝나는 안쪽으로 뻗은 복수의 가요성 핑거를 가지며, 각 디스크의 외부주변 부분(outer peripheral portrons)은 디스크내의 개구가 웨이퍼내의 구멍을 따라 정렬되도록 웨이퍼에 접속되어 있고, 핀은 개구를 통하여 뻗어있고 가요성 핑거는 핀과 웨이퍼 사이의 전기적 접속을 이루고 있는 장치.
  18. 암 커넥터와 암 커넥터내의 소켓으로 뻗어있는 복수의 핀을 갖는 수 컨넥터를 결합시켜 전기적 케이블에 분리 가능하게 접속되어 있는 전자 장비에로의 전기적 접속을 이루는 방법에 있어서, 수 커넥터내의 핀에 해당하는 그 내부에 일련의 구멍을 갖는 웨이퍼를 제공하는 것; 핀이 웨이퍼내의 구멍을 통하여 뻗어있도록 수커넥터내로 웨이퍼를 삽입시키는 것; 핀과 웨이퍼 사이에 와이핑(wiping)전기적 접촉을 이루는것; 및 핀에 의해 보내진 신호에 따라 예정된 기능을 수행하기 위해 웨이퍼상의 회로를 사용하는 것으로 이루어진 방법.
  19. 제18항에 있어서 웨이퍼 및 핀과 웨이퍼의 접촉을 통하여 전자 장비와 원격 제어기 사이에 양방향으로 통신하는 것을 더 구비하는 방법.
  20. 제18항에 있어서, 암 수 커넥터를 서로 분리하는 것(unmating);수 커넥터로부터 웨이퍼를 분리하는것(removing); 웨이퍼상의 회로의 특성을 측정하는 것을 더 구비하고 있는 방법.
  21. 암수용기(receptacle)내의 소켓에 결합하는 수 커넥터내의 복수의 핀에 전기적 접속을 이루기 위한 디바이스에 있어서, 수 커넥터내의 핀을 따라 정렬된 그 내의 일련의 구멍을 가지며 핀이 구멍을 통하여 뻗을 수 있도록 수 커넥터를 삽입가능한 웨이퍼; 핀상의 전기적 신호를 검출하기 위한 페이퍼상의 회로수단; 핀이 웨이퍼내의 구멍을 통하여 뻗을때 회로 수단 사이의 전기적 접촉을 이루기 위한 저촉수단; 및 수 커넥터가 암 수용기에 결합하고 회로 수단이 암 소켓 및 수커넥터 핀 사이에 흐르는 전기적 신호를 검출할 수 있도록 충분히 얇은 상기 웨이퍼로 구성되는 비다이스.
  22. 제21항에 있어서, 상기 웨이퍼가 반도체 물질로 이루어지는 디바이스.
  23. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 회로수단이 반도체 웨이퍼 내에 형성된 집적 회로로 구성되는 디바이스.
  24. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 회로수단이 핀상의 신호가 예정된 레벨을 초과할때 녹게되는 접촉 수단에 결합된 적어도 하나의 퓨즈를 정의하기 위한 반도체 웨이퍼상의 수단을 구비하는 디바이스.
  25. 제21항에 있어서, 수 커넥터가 금속성 쉘을 포함하고 을바이스가 웨이퍼와 쉘 사이의 분리가능한 전기적 접속을 이루기 위한 제2접촉 수단 더 구비한 디바이스.
  26. 제21항에 있어서, 웨이퍼 상의 회로 수단으로부터 원격 제어기로 정보를 전송하기 위한 통신 수단을 더구비한 디바이스.
  27. 제26항에 있어서, 통신 수단이 웨이퍼 상의 광학 송신기 수단; 웨이퍼 상의 광학 송신기 수단; 웨이퍼로부터 떨어져 있는 원격 광학 수신기수단; 및 웨이퍼상의 송신기에서 원격 수신기로 광학 신호를 전송하기 위한 광도파관 수단을 구비한 디바이스.
  28. 제27항에 있어서, 수 커넥터는 외부 쉘을 갖는 케이블 커넥터이고 암 수용기는 수 커넥터의 쉘에 분리가능하게 접속되어 있는 외부 쉘을 갖는 암 케이블 커넥터로 구성되어 있는 디바이스.
  29. 제28항에 있어서, 광 도파관 수단은 스트립의 한쪽 끝은 웨이퍼상의 송신기에 접속되어 있고, 스트립의 다른쪽 끝은 원격 수신기에 접속되어 있는 암 및 수 커넥터의 쉘 사이에 뻗어 있는 유연한 스트립을 구비한 디바이스.
  30. 제21항에 있어서, 상기 접촉 수단이 금속성 디스크를 구비하는데 각각이 디스크내의 개구에서 끝나는 복수의 안쪽으로 뻗은 가요성 핑거를 가지고, 각 디스크의 외부 림 부분은 디스크 내의 개구가 웨이퍼내의 구멍을 따라 정렬되도록 웨이퍼에 접속되어 있으며, 핀이 개구를 통하여 뻗어있고 가요성 핑거는 핀과 웨이퍼 사이에 전기적 접속을 이루는 디바이스.
  31. 제21항에 있어서, 상기 회로수단은 암 수용기와 수 커넥터 사이에 흐르는 전기적 신호의 전력의 특성을 검출하기 위한 수단을 구비하고 있는 디바이스.
  32. 암 수용기에 분리가능하게 접속되고 암 수용기내의 소켓으로 뻗어 잇는 복수의 핀을 갖는 수 커넥터 사이에 흐르는 전기적 신호의 특성을 검출하는 방법에 있어서, 수 커넥터내의 핀에 해당하는 그내의 일련의 구멍을 갖는 웨이퍼를 제공하는 것; 핀이 웨이퍼내의 구멍을 통하여 뻗어있도록 수 커넥터 내로 웨이퍼를 삽입하는것; 핀과 웨이퍼상의 회로 사이에 전기적 접촉을 이루는 것;수 커넥터와 암 커넥터를 결합하고 그 사이에 웨이퍼가 끼워져 있게 하는것; 및 핀에 의해 보내진 신호에 예정된 기능을 실행하기 위해 웨이퍼상의 회로를 사용하는 것으로 구성된 상기 방법.
  33. 제32항에 있어서, 수 커넥터와 암 수용기를 분리하는것(ummating);수 커넥터로 부터 웨이퍼를 분리하는것(removing); 및 웨이퍼상의 회로의 특성을 검출하는 것으로 구성된 방법.
  34. 제33항에 있어서, 상기 회로가 암 수용기 및 수 커넥터 사이에 흐르는 전력을 감지하고 상기 검출 단계가 회로에 의해 감지된 전력의 특성에 대해 테스트하는 방법.
