Claims (17)
- 강유전성 액정이 복수화소를 형성하는 복수의 전극을 각각 가진 상하 기판 사이에 샌드위치된 액정패널과 인접화소 사이에 안정된 갭의 상태를 스위칭하기 위하여 인접화소에 소정전압을 가하는 수단으로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 소정전압은 2개의 인접화소가 어두운 상태에 있으면, 갭의 안정상태를 어두운 상태로 스위치로 하고, 2개의 인접화소가 밝은 상태에 있으면 밝은 상태 또는 중간상태로 스위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 갭은 5㎛이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 강유전성 액정의 저항은 적어도 3×1010Ωㆍ㎝인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 갭의 폭은 최대 30㎛이고, 상기 수단은 먼저 상기 갭을 어두운 상태로 만드는 전압을 인가한 다음, 인접화소를 선택하고, 어두운 상태로 상기 갭을 유지하는 전압을 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 상하기판에 형성된 층은 동일극성을 가진 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 상하기판상에 전극은 폭이 서로다른 행전극 및 열전극 사이에 각 갭을 매트릭스 형성하기 위하여 행렬로 배열되고, 상기 수단은 대응영상데이터에 따라서 각 갭의 안정된 상태를 스위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자.
- 강유진성 액정이 복수화소를 형성하는 복수의 전극을 각각 가진 상하기판사이에 샌드위치되고, 상기 복수화소중에서 인접화소 사이에 안정된 갭의 상태를 스위치하는데 충분한 전압 및 펄스폭을 갖는 소정전압이 상기 인접화소중의 적어도 1개의 화소에 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 소정전압은 2개의 인접화소에 가해지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제8항에 있어서, 인접화소중의 적어도 1개의 화소에 어두운 상태로 상기갭을 안정화하는 제1전압을 인가한후에, 상기 제1전압보다 작은 제2전압이 갭의 안정상태를 유지하고, 화소를 선택하기 위하여 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 상기 제1전압이 소정수의 주사수간격으로 인접화소중의 적어도 1개의 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 제1전압은 제2전압보다 큰 펄스폭을 가진 AC펄스이고, 상기 AC펄스의 펄스폭으로 2내지 100회 간격으로 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 인접화소를 동시에 선택하기 위한 주사에 의해서 상기 갭은 인접화소 모두를 밝은 상태로 하면 밝은 상태가 되고, 인접화소 모두를 어두운 상태로 하면 어두운 상태로 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상하 기판상에 전극은 매트릭스 행렬로 배여되고, 제1주사는 갭의 안정상태를 제어하기 위하여 만들어지며, 제2주사는 각 전극에 접속된 화소의 안정상태를 제어하기 위하여 연속적으로 1개씩 행 또는 열을 선택하는 제1주사에 있어서 보다더 펄스폭이 작은 전압에 의해 만들어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 제1주사는 인접 열전극 사이에서 갭의 안정상태를 제어하는 열전극 주사와 인접 행전극사이에서 갭의 안정상태를 제어하는 행전극주사로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 소정전압으로 밝은 또는 어두운 상태중에 어느 1개의 인접화소사이에서의 화소 및 갭을 리세팅한후, 상기 화소를 선택하기 위한 주사는 상기 화소 및 상기 갭의 상태를 유지하거나 단지 상기 화소만 반전하게 하거나 상기 2개의 화소를 반전하게 만들어지며,이에 의해 3그레이 레벨을 얻는 갭이 만들어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 상하기판상에 전극은 주사전극 및 신호전극을 형성하며, 인접화소와 접속된 주사 전극은 선택기간동안에 주사전극에 인가된 주사펄스의 적어도 2배의 펄스폭을 가진 펄스전압으로 인가되며, 또다른 주사전극이 선택되면 주사전압펄스의 극성이 반대되고, 인접화소는 신호전극에 인가된 전압에 관계없이 인접화소 사이에 갭의 안정상태를 변화하는데 충분한 펄스전압으로 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정소자의 구동법.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
