Claims (15)

  1. (a) 알케닐 방향족 합성수지를 열 가소화시키고, (b) 가소화된 수지 및 발포제를 압력 PM(이 압력은 알케닐 방향족 합성수지와 발포제의 혼합물에서 발포제의 평형 증기압 보다 크다)에서 유지되는 유입구를 가진 혼합장치내로 도입시키고, (c) 혼합물을 냉각창치를 통해 통과시킨 후, (d) 냉각된 혼합물을 다이 유입구 압력이 P (이 압력은 대기압 보다 크다)인 다이를 통해 통과시키는 단계를 포함하며, 여기서 발포체 표면의 질은 혼합기의 유입구로 부터 다이의 유입구까지의 압력강하 ΔP를, 제공된 수지와 발포체 혼합물에 대하여 실험적으로 예비측정된 최소 빛 임계 압력강하 ΔPc보다 크거나 이와 동등한 압력강하 조심스럽게 유지시켜 조절함으로써, 평균 기포크기가 약 0.05 내지 약 3.5mm이고, 밀도가 약 1.0 내지 약 5.0 lb/ft3(pcf)이며, 최소 횡단면 두께가 1/2in이고, 최소 횡단면적이 8 in2인, 밀폐된 기포를 갖는 알케닐 방향족 합성수지-압출 발포체를 제조하는 방법.

  9. 제1항에 있어서, 추가로, 단계(a) 후 및 단계(b)전에, 압력 조절장치를 통해 가소화된 수지를 통과시키는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
  10. 제l항의 방법에 마라 제조된, 압출된 알케닐 방향족 합성수지 발포체.
  11. 제1항에 있어서, 혼합장치의 온도를 저하시킴으로써 ΔP 값의 강하를 보정하는 방법.
  12. 제1항에 있어서. 혼합장치의 다이의 유입구 사이에 위치 하는 트로틀 밸브(throttle valve)를 부분적으로 폐쇄시킴으로써 ΔP값의 강하를 보정하는 방법.
  13. 제1항에 있어서, 발포제 농도를 감소시킴으로써 ΔP값의 강하를 보정하는 방법.
  14. 제1항에 있어서, 알케닐 방향족 합성수지를 혼합 장치내로 공급하는 속도를 증가시킴으로써 ♪P값의 강하를 보정하는 방법.
  15. 제1항에 있어서, ΔP값이 연속적으로 측정되고, ΔP값이 예정된 값 이하로 강하할 때마다 경계신호가 자동적으로 활성화되는 방법.
