Claims (7)

  1. 일반식(Ⅰ)의 광학활성-2-비페닐일피리딘.
    상기식에서, R은 C1내지 C15의 알킬그룹이고, R*는 광학활성그룹이고, X는 수소 또는 불소원자이다.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, R이 C4내지 C12의 선형 알킬그룹인 광학활성-2-비페닐일피리딘.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, R*가 C4내지 C15의 광학활성 알킬그룹, C2내지 C13의 광학활성 할로겐화 알킬그룹, C3내지 C14의 광학활성 시아노화 알킬그룹,C4내지 C15의 광학활성 알콕시알킬그룹, C5내지 C16의 광학활성 할로겐화 알콕시알킬그룹, C5내지 C16의 광학활성 알카노일옥시알킬그룹, C5내지 C16의 광학활성 할로겐화 알카노일옥시알킬그룹, C5내지 C16의 광학활성 알콕시알카노일옥시알킬그룹, C4내지 C15의 광학활성알카노일그룹 또는 C3내지 C15의 광학활성 알콕시카노일그룹 또는 C3내지 C14의 광학활성 알콕시카보닐 알킬그룹인 광학활성-2-비페닐일피리딘.
  4. 적어도 두가지 성분중에서 적어도 하나가 제1항에서 특허청구한 광학활성-2-비페닐일피리딘임을 특징으로 하는 액정조성물.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 키랄 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정조성물.
  6. 제4항에 있어서, 키랄 네마틱상을 나타내는 액정조성물.
  7. 제4항에 있어서 특허청구한 액정조성물을 함유함을 특징으로 하는 광개폐소자.
