본 고안은 생리대에 관한 것이다. 더욱 특히, 본 고안은, 중앙 흡수성 패드의 각 종연부를 따라 신장하는 플랩을 포함하는 중앙흡수성 패드로 구성된 생리대에 관한 것이다. 각 플랩의 동체는 이를 중심으로 플랩이 절첩될 수 있는 가요성 축선을 포함한다. 각 플랩과 중앙흡수성 패드 종연부의 이음선에서 생리대가 굽어지는 것이 바람직하다. 생리대가 팬티에 사용되는 경우, 각 플랩은 일 벽의 기부를 형성하는 중앙흡수성 패드의 종연부와 플랩의 이음선에서 위로 굽어진다. 그 벽은 팬티의 가랑이 부분의 테두리 주위로 접하는 플랩동체의 가용성 축을 따라 신장한다. 본 고안의 생리대는, 생리기간동안 팬티, 몸 및 의복에 얼룩이 지는 것을 방지함으로써 사용자에게 극히 효과적인 보호를 제공함과 동시에 최고의 안락함을 제공한다.
1957년 4월 2일자로 허여된 클라크(Clark)의 미합중국 특허 제2,787,271호에는, 직사각형의 중앙패드와, 그 패드와 일체로 조립된 1쌍의 횡방향 플랩들을 포함하는 생리대가 기술되어 있다. 이러한 플랩들은 아래로 접혀 착용자의 넓적다리들과 대향한 내측 표면에 지지되기 적합하게 되어 있어 통상 의복에 얼룩을 지게 하는 유출물이 중앙패드에서 못나오게 저지한다. 이러한 생리대는, 횡방향 플랩들이 중앙패드의 각 변들을 형성하는 곧은 평행경첩선들을 따라 아래로 굽어지도록 조립된다. 중앙패드에는 흡수성 면과 같은 부드럽고 흡수성이 있는 섬유물질로 된 심체(core body)가 있고, 그 심체는 횡방향 플랩들 안으로 차단없이 신장한다. 그 경첩은 중앙패드의 심체의 횡 테두리를 따라 압축(비교적 뾰족한 가압 공구로 증기 압착)함으로써 형성된다.
1968년 8월 20일자로 허여된 릭카드(Rickard)의 미합중국 특허 제3,397,697호에는 속옷용의 일회용 생리대가 기술되어 있다. 이 장치는 중간의 목-모양의 부분으로 연결된 적어도 2개의 깔개들로 분할된 가요성 물질의 신장된 시이트를 포함한다. 목-모양의 부분에 인접한 깔개들중 하나의 가장자리 부분들은, 서로 절첩되어 팬티속옷의 넓적다리 부분의 윤곽을 형성하여 감싸기 적합하게된 대향 날개형 플랩들을 포함한다. 그러므로 팬티의 넓적다리 부분의 폭은, 팬티의 넓적다리 부분과 자유로이 접동할 수 있는 환상 흡수성 밴드에 의해 한정된다.
1981년 8월 25일자로 허여된 맥네어(McNair)의 미합중국 특허 4,285,343호에는, 중앙의 신장 흡수성 패드부재와 그 옆으로 신장하는 옆 깔개들을 포함하는 생리대가 기술되어 있다. 그 옆 깔개들은 중앙부재와 일체로 형성되거나, 혹은 분리 형성되어 중앙흡수성 패드의 종연부들에 고착될 수 있다. 중앙 부재와 옆 깔개들 사이의 공통 이음선들은, 그 장치가 사용될때 각 옆 깔개가 중앙흡수성 패드의 각 옆 테두리를 중심으로 중앙 부재의 배면측을 향해 접힐수 있도록 가요성이 있어야 한다. 사용시에, 중앙부재는 속옷의 넓적다리 부분의 내측에 접착고정되고, 각 옆 깔개는 속옷의 넓적다리 외측 표면의 적어도 절반을 에워싸도록 접혀진다.
본 고안은, 액체 투과성 표면 시이트, 액체 불투과성 배면 시이트, 및 표면 시이트와 배면 시이트 사이에 삽입된 흡수성 심부(core)로 구성된 중앙흡수성 패드를 포함하는 생리대에 관한 것이다. 중앙흡수성 패드의 각 종연부에는 그로부터 신장하는 하나의 플랩이 있다. 생리대는 중앙흡수성 패드의 종연부와 각 플랩의 이음선에서 굽어지는 것이 바람직하다. 각 플랩은 바람직하게는 액체 투과성 표면 시이트, 액체 불투과성 배면 시이트, 및 표면 시이트와 배면 시이트 사이에 삽입된 흡수성 심부를 포함한다. 부가적으로, 각 플랩은, 플랩이 서로 절첩되도록하는 플랩의 동체에 위치된 가요성 축을 갖는다. 바람직한 실시태양에서, 전체의 각 플랩은 가요성이다.

표면 시이트(14)는 액체 투과성이고, 생리대(10)이 사용될때 사용자의 피부에 거의 밀착되어 있다. 표면시이트(14)는 사용자의 피부에 순응하고, 부드러운 감촉을 주며, 무자극성이다. 그것은 이런식의 사용에 적합한 통상의 물질로 만들어질 수 있다. 표면 시이트(14)로 이용될 수 있는 적절한 물질들의 수많은 예로서 제직 및 비제직 폴리에스테르, 폴리프로필렌, 나일론 및 레이온, 및 성형 열가소성 필름들이고, 성형필름이 바람직하다. 적절한 성형 필름들이 물란(Mullane) 및 스미스(Smith)의 미합중국 특허 제4,324,246호(1982년 4월 13일자로허여), 및 라델 (Radel) 및 톰슨(Thompson)의 미합중국 특허 제4,342,314호(1982년 8월 3일자로 허여)에 기술되어 있고, 상기 특허들을 본 명세서에서는 참고로 인용한다. 성형 필름은 액체에 대해 투과성이 있으나 비흡수성이기 때문에 표면 시이트(14)에 바람직하다. 즉, 신체에 접촉해 있는 성형 필름의 표면은 계속 건조해있고 착용자에게 더 편안한 감을 준다.
본 고안의 바람직한 실시양태에 있어서, 표면 시이트(14)의 외측 표면은 계면활성제로 처리된다.
계면활성제로 표면 시이트(14)의 외측 표면을 처리하면 그러한 표면이 더 친수성이 있게 되고, 이 결과, 표면이 처리되지 않은 경우보다 더 빨리 액체가 표면 시이트(14)에 침투된다. 이렇게 처리하면, 생리물이 표면 시이트(14)밖으로 유출되어 흡수성 심부에 의해 흡수되지 않고 옷이나 몸에 얼룩이 지게 되는 경향이 감소된다. 계면활성제가 표면 시이트(14)의 외측 표면 전체를 통해 거의 균일하고 완전하게 분배되는 것이 바람직하다. 이것은 당분야의 전문가에게 공지된 통상의 기술에 의해 달성될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 분무하거나, 패딩하거나 또는 이송 롤을 사용하여 계면활성제를 표면 시이트(14)에 적용할 수 있다.

중앙흡수성 패드(12)는 크기에 상관이 없다. 그러나, 이음선(26)과 (26')사이의 중앙흡수성 패드(12)의 폭은 비교적 아주 좁은 것이 바람직하다. 팬티의 가랑이 폭은 대략 7.5센티미터이다. 이음선(26)과 (26')사이의 중앙흡수성 패드(12)의 폭이 팬티 가랑이 폭보다 더 크면, 후술하듯이 벽들이 형성되기가 어렵다. 벽들이 없으면 본 고안 생리대의 수많은 잇점들이 얻어지지 않는다. 더구나, 일반적으로 중앙흡수성 패드(12)가 더 좁을수록, 벽들은 더 길어진다.
생리대(10)을 전반적으로 구성하여 사용하면 중앙흡수성 패드(12)가 몸체 밀착하여 유지되기 때문에 좁은 중앙흡수성 패드(12)가 효과적임을 주지해야 한다. 중앙흡수성 패드(12)가 그렇게 근접함으로 해서 그것이 있어야 할 곳, 즉 몸 바로 가까이 질구에 위치하게 된다. 그래서 중앙흡수성 패드(12)는, 다량의 생리물이 그 패드를 따라 흐르기 전에 그 생리물을 흡수할 수 있다. 그러므로, 중앙흡수성 패드(12)가 넓다는 것에는 잇점이 없다. 이음선(26)과 (26')사이의 중앙흡수성 패드(12)의 폭은 약 1내지 약 11.5㎝, 더욱 바람직하게는 약 2내기 약 7㎝, 및 가장 바람직하게는 약 2내지 약 5㎝인 것이 적합하다.
중앙흡수성 패드(12)는, 흡수될 생리물의 총량보다 훨씬 큰 흡수 용량을 가질 필요가 없다. 따라서, 중앙흡수성 패드(12)는 좁은 것외에도 비교적 매우 얇을 수 있다. 또한, 좁고 얇은 중앙흡수성 패드(12)가 사용자에게 극히 편안하다.

플랩(24)는 어떤 형태라도 좋은데, 그것은 생리대(10)의 종연부를 따라 중심을 둘 필요가 없기 때문이다. 제3도, 제4도 및 제5도에 플랩들의 대표적인 형태를 도시하였다. 제3도의 플랩은 중앙흡수성 패드의 종연부를 따라 신장된다. 그러한 신장은 부가적인 보호를 제공하여 얼룩지는 것을 막는다. 제5도의 노치들(50) 및 (50')는, 플랩이 쭈그러들지 않고서 팬티의 가랑이 부분 테두리 주위로 감싸질 수 있게 한다.

본 고안의 생리대를 사용하면 수많은 잇점이 얻어진다. 플랩(24) 및 (24')는, 제7도에 도시된 바대로 팬티의 가랑이 부분(44)의 각 연부 주위로 감싸진다. 팬티 가랑이를 이렇게 감싸는 것은 생리물이 팬티의 중앙 가랑이 부분과 접촉하는 것을 방지하는데 도움을 준다. 그래서 팬티의 중앙 가랑이 부분이 더러워지지 않는다.

이러한 4가지의 잇점들은 본 고안의 생리대가 각 플랩과 중앙흡수성 패드 종연부의 이음선에서 우선적으로 굽어지기 때문에 얻어진다. 여성의 가랑이 부분의 해부학적 특징은 가랑이 폭이 실질적으로 사다리꼴이 되고 질구에 위치한 가랑이의 중심 부분이 사다리꼴의 기부에 있는 것이다. 제1도에 도시된 바와 같은 본 고안의 생리대가 사용되는 경우, 가랑이 부분의 해부학적 특징은 생리대가 각 플랩과 중앙흡수성 패드 종연부의 이음선에서 우선적으로 굽어지게 강제한다는 것이다. 이로써 생리대는 중앙흡수성 패드와 각 종연부에 하나의 벽을 형성하게 되며 : 제8도에 도시된 바대로 그 벽은 플랩과 중앙흡수성 패드(26.26')의 이음선으로부터 플랩들(34.34')의 가요성 축들까지 신장한다. 그래서, 사용시에, 본 고안의 생리대는 이음선(26 및 26')에 의해 형성된 평면보다 더 높은 팬티의 가랑이 부분(46.46')의 연부로 감싸진 가요성 축(34 및 34')에 의해 형성된 평면을 갖는 웰-형모양이다.

  1. 측단부가 있는 신장된 중앙 흡수코어(12), 및 각각 흡수코어에 부착되어 있으며 흡수코어의 측단부로부터 외부를 향하여 측방향으로 뻗은 2개의 플랩(24,24')을 포함하며 흡수코어와 개개의 플랩의 이음선(26,26')을 따라 선택적으로 굽혀지는 생리대에 있어서, 각각의 플랩이 생리대의 세로방향으로 배향된 가요성 축(34,34')을 형성하는 단일 힌지수단에 의해 서로 연결된 내부 부분(96,96')와 외부 부분(97,97')을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 생리대.
