Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は高度な防漏性を有する吸収性物品に関するも
のである。特に生理用ナプキンや失禁者用パッドなど、
使用者が衣類とともに装着し、狭い股間にて用いられる
吸収性物品に関する。
〔従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題〕
従来の吸収性物品、例えば、生理用ナプキンあるいは
使い捨ておむつは、基本的に、液体透過性の表面材、液
体保持性の吸収体、及び液体不透過性の防漏材からな
る。
近年、吸収性物品は急速な技術の進歩に伴い、吸収性
ポリマー、疎水性表面材などの新しい素材を導入するこ
とにより、吸収性能の向上が図られてきた。しかし、こ
れらの個々には優れた性能を組み合わせた吸収性物品も
実際の使用時においては本来の性能を十分に発揮してい
るとは言えない。これは、このような吸収性物品に対す
る使用者の第１の不満点が、依然として股間部や臀部か
らの漏れであることからも明らかである。
この漏れの最も大きな原因は、使用者の運動等によ
り装着した吸収性物品に不規則な応力が加わり、吸収性
物品が所定の位置から移動（以下ズレと記す）してしま
ったり、吸収性物品に不規則な変形（以下ヨレと記
す）が生じたりして、身体と吸収性物品の間に隙間が生
じることによるためである。
これらの原因による漏れは、使用者が着用する衣類に
よっても大いに影響を受ける。より身体に密着しないシ
ョーツでは、上述の漏れは比較的、低吸収容量で発生し
やすい。また、身体に密着したショーツを装着した場合
には、圧迫感、むれ感等の不快な状態に耐えなければな
らない問題点がある。
これらの問題を解決するために、特開昭60−75058号
公報及び特開平１−111002号公報等に、吸収性物品の縦
方向中央部位置において、両側部から可撓性の耳片を延
出させ、使用時にショーツに固定することにより、防漏
性を改善する技術が数多く提案されているが、確かにこ
れらの技術を用いた場合、股間からの漏れは正しく装着
された場合にはある程度防止できるものの、用いる衣類
によっては、例えば身体との密着性が弱いショーツや、
ショーツのクロッチの幅が吸収体の幅より大きい場合
は、耳片が吸収性物品の表面を覆ってしまい、必ずしも
効果的にモレを防止できない。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
本発明者らは、いかなるショーツを着用しても、効果
的に股間及び臀部からの漏れを防止し、快適な着用感を
与える吸収性物品を得るべく鋭意検討した結果、本発明
を完成するに至った。
即ち、本発明は、液体透過性の表面材、液体保持性の
吸収体、及び液体不透過性の防漏材を有する実質的に縦
長の吸収性物品において、該吸収性物品の縦方向に偏倚
した位置で幅方向の両側端から可撓性の耳片が延出し、
該耳片が存在する部位に対応する位置において、少なく
とも長手方向両側部に液体不透過性部を有することを特
徴とする吸収性物品を提供するものである。
以下、本発明を図面に基づき詳細に説明する。
第１図は、本発明に係る吸収性物品の一実施例を示す
正面図であり、第２図は第１図のハ−ハ′線における断
面図である。
この吸収性物品１は液体透過性の表面材４、液体保持
性の吸収体６、及び液体不透過性の防漏材３を有し、実
質的に縦長であり、該吸収性物品の縦方向に偏倚した位
置で幅方向の両側端から可撓性の耳片２が延出し、該耳
片が存在する部位に対応する位置において、少なくも長
手方向両側部に液体不透過性部4bを有することを特徴と
する。即ち、液体不透過性部4bに相当する吸収性物品の
上面、側面及び下面が不透過性となっている。
この吸収性物品の表面材４は、特公平１−119251号公
報にて提案されているような、肌に接する側に疎水性の
フィルムが配置され、その形態が頂部、底部、及びそれ
らを連結する壁部を有する凹凸構造をしており、少なく
とも壁部の一部には開孔が設けられ、かつ底部には開孔
が存在しないことが、液体透過性、液もどり防止性、吸
収後の遮蔽性、及びドライ感の点より好ましい。フィル
ム層の開孔は、液体透過性、液もどり防止性、吸収後の
遮蔽性のバランスの上で決定されるが、一般に開孔の大
きさが0.1〜2mmであり、開孔の密度が10〜100個/cm2で
あることが好ましい。
このようなフィルム層の素材としては、疎水性であれ
ばフィルム形成でき得るどんな樹脂でもよい。例えば、
ポリオレフィン、オレフィンと他のモノマー（酢酸ビニ
ル、アクリル酸エチルなど）の共重合樹脂、ポリエステ
ル、ナイロン、アセテートといった合成樹脂及びこれら
のブレンドポリマーなどが挙げられるが、風合いや、実
生産における加工性を考慮するとポリオレフィン、オレ
フィンと他のモノマーの共重合樹脂又はこれらのブレン
ドポリマーが好ましく、その中でも低密度のポリエチレ
ン、直鎖状低密度のポリエチレン又はエチレン−酢酸ビ
ニル共重合体ないしはそれらのブレンド物がより好まし
い。
更に、液体透過性や液戻り防止性を制御するための手
段として、界面活性剤の塗布、プラズマ照射などの物理
的処理又は鉱酸処理などの化学的処理などにより、フィ
ルム層の表面を親水化処理することも可能であるし、逆
に、シリコン系やフッ素系の薬剤の塗布などにより、フ
ィルム層の表面を撥水化処理することも可能である。ま
た、風合いの改善などの必要に応じて、フィルム層にカ
レンダー処理や微細なパターンのエンボス処理を施すこ
とも可能である。
更に、表面材が該フィルムと親水性繊維集合体を一体
化した、例えば、ラミネート不織布、ラミネート紙など
であれば、吸収性、特に吸収する速度の点より好ましく
用いることができる。
ここで、繊維集合体とは、繊維同士の軽度の絡み合い
から成るいわゆるウエブ、繊維同士が絡合又は接着によ
り固定されてなるいわゆる不織布又は紙を意味する。そ
の繊維組成は、どのようなものを用いることも可能であ
る。但し表面材の保形性を考慮すると、ポリオレフィ
ン、ポリエステル、アクリル、ポリアミドなどの合成繊
維を50重量％以上含むことが好ましい。この中でも、特
に弾性に富みかつ安定した風合いを形成することが容易
なポリプロピレン、ポリエステル、ポリエチレン／ポリ
プロピレン複合繊維、ポリエチレン／ポリエステル複合
繊維、低融点ポリエチレン／ポリエステル複合繊維がよ
り好ましい。合成繊維を用いる場合には液透過性を考慮
すると繊維の表面に適当な方法で親水化処理を施すこと
が好ましい。繊維の太さは、液透過性と風合いを考慮す
ると、一般に１〜10デニールの範囲にあることが好まし
い。繊維層の坪量は、表面材が十分な保形性を持ちかつ
良好な風合いを有する範囲で自由に定めることができる
が、一般に５〜100g/m2であることが好ましく、10〜50g
/m2であれはより好ましい。
本発明の一実施例である第１図及び第２図に示した吸
収性物品の表面材４は、中央部領域4aにおいてのみ開孔
部を有し、縦方向両側部領域4bでは、単に中央部領域と
同一の凹凸形態を有しているのみで未開孔であり、液体
不透過性部を形成している。
開孔している中央部4aの幅は、吸収性物品の幅により
自由に変えることができるが、吸収性物品と同時に着用
されるショーツのクロッチの幅が一般に60〜80mmであ
り、この幅と同一かこれより小さい幅である35〜80mmが
好ましく、60〜75mmがより好ましい。35mmより狭い領域
であると、使用者の装着方法あるいはミスにより、未開
孔部領域4bが、排出部位に存在しモレにつながる結果と
なり好ましくない。80mm以上あると股間部領域より著し
く幅広になり、装着時に狭い股間に存在するゆえに種々
の変形が生じ、吸収性も時として悪くなるとともに、装
着時の違和感が生じ好ましくない。
縦方向両側部領域の未開孔部領域（液体不透過性部）
4bの幅としては、２〜20mmが好ましく、３〜10mmがより
好ましい。未開孔部領域の幅が20mmを超えると必然的に
中央部領域4aの幅が狭くなり好ましくなく、幅が2mm未
満になると、使用者の運動等により装着した吸収性物品
に不規則な応力が加わり両側端の開孔部より容易に体液
がにじみ漏れを生じてしまう。
更に本発明のより好ましい形状としては、第３図及び
第４図に示される従来の吸収性物品とは異なり、該表面
材４と液不透過性の防漏材３とが、吸収体６の幅より狭
い領域つまり吸収体の存在する領域の固定部５において
接合されていることが好ましい。
表面材４をまき下げ、防漏材３と第２図に示すように
接合することにより、該表面材の両側部未開孔部領域4b
の効果を著しく高めることができる。第３図に示される
従来の吸収性物品の如く、吸収体６の両側端部外側で表
面材４と防漏材３とを接合する方法では、耳片２をショ
ーツに固定するとき、吸収体に様々な力が加わり、変形
しやすくなってしまうため好ましくない。表面材４をま
き下げ、防漏材３と接合することにより、吸収体６の存
在する領域においてショーツとの固定点が存在し、この
固定点を軸にショーツと吸収性物品が固定され、吸収体
６に直接耳片２からの変形力が加わるのを制御でき著し
く吸収性を高めることができる。
表面材４と防漏材３を固定する位置５は第２図に示す
ように、吸収体の幅ｌ、吸収性物品の幅ｌ′、固定点の
幅ｌ″及び表面材の開孔部が存在する領域の幅l4aとす
ると、ｌ＞ｌ″であることが必要でる。更には、固定点
の幅ｌ″が吸収体の幅ｌより小さく、表面材の開口部領
域l4a以上の間隔があれば、即ちl4a≦ｌ″＜ｌであれば
より好ましい。
表面材４と防漏材３の固定方法は、公知の材料、公知
の方法を用いることができる。生産性を考慮に入れる
と、ホットメルト接着剤が好ましい。固定方法として
は、ビード状あるいはパラレル状であっても良いが、吸
収体下部からの防漏性からビード状が好ましい。
更に本発明の吸収性物品は、第１図に示したように、
吸収性物品１の縦方向に偏倚した位置で、幅方向両側端
から可撓性の耳片２が延出しているため、体液が排出さ
れる点に概ね一致する耳片部分より後方の吸収体の長さ
が、前方に比べて大きくなる。吸収性物品１の縦方向の
中心線ロ−ロ′と、耳片２の縦方向の中心線ハ−ハ′と
が実質的に一致しない。従って、装着時に臀部を覆う面
積が恥骨部に比べて相対的に増大し、臀部からの漏れは
飛躍的に制御される。本発明においては、吸収性物品の
縦方向の中心線ロ−ロ′と耳片２の縦方向の中心線ハ−
ハ′とは少なくとも10mm以上融離していることが好まし
い。
本発明において、耳片２としては第５図に示すよう
に、ショーツ７に固定する際に、容易に折れ曲がるほど
可撓性であれば任意のものを用いることができるが、保
形性や耳片と肌との当接面での感触向上の為、フィルム
と親水性繊維集合体を一体化した、例えば、ラミネート
不織布、ラミネート紙などが好ましい。
本発明に係わる耳片２の好ましい大きさは、吸収性物
品の大きさにより変化するので一概に規定されるもので
はない。ただし、吸収体の長さと幅が各々250mm,70mm程
度の夜用大型ナプキンにおいては、一般に耳片の長さと
幅は各々30〜70mm,25〜50mmであることが、ショーツへ
の固定の安定性及び固定操作の容易性の点で好ましい。
また、耳片の位置は、吸収性物品の縦方向中央から20〜
40mm程度縦端に偏倚させることが好ましい。
本発明の吸収性物品は、第５図に示すようにショーツ
７に耳片２をまきつけて固定している公知の方法にて使
用されるが、その装着方法により著しく吸収性能が影響
をうける。
本発明では、吸収性物品をショーツに固定する際、第
６図に示すように耳片２をショーツ７よりしっかりと引
き出し、表面材と防漏材との固定点がショーツのクロッ
チ端部に位置するようにすることで、著しく吸収性能を
発揮でき好ましい。
特開昭60−75058号公報に提案されているように、耳
片が壁を形成する装着方法においては、身体に密着しな
い衣類を使用者が着用した場合、耳片が吸収体面を覆っ
てしまうことが発生し、耳片を伝わって漏れにつなが
り、本発明の吸収性能が発揮できなくなることがあり好
ましくない。
〔作用及び効果〕
上述したように、耳片をショーツよりしっかりと引き
出し、表面材と防漏材との固定点がショーツのクロッチ
端部に位置するようにすることで、耳片が吸収体面を覆
ってしまうことが発生することもなく、本発明の長手方
向両側部にある液体不透過性部の防漏効果がいかんなく
発揮できる。
更に、耳片をショーツよりしっかりと引き出し、粘着
材等でショーツのクロッチ部裏面に固定することで、身
体に対して装着時に吸収性物品が凸状になり、有効に吸
収性物品の性能が発揮できる。
更に別の効果として、ショーツのクロッチ端部は常に
身体側に密着しようとする力が働いている為、耳片をシ
ョーツよりしっかりと引き出し、表面材と防漏材との固
定点がショーツのクロッチ端部に位置するようにするこ
とで、装着時に吸収性物品が身体に対して密着し防漏効
果がいかんなく発揮できる。
以上のように、本発明の吸収性物品は、身体に密着性
の小さいショーツから、身体に密着性の大きいショーツ
まで同様の吸収性能が発揮でき、使用者にとって安心で
きる吸収性物品を提供できる。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】液体透過性の表面材、液体保持性の吸収
    体、及び液体不透過性の防漏材を有する実質的に縦長の
    吸収性物品において、該吸収性物品の縦方向に偏倚した
    位置で幅方向の両側端から可撓性の耳片が延出し、該耳
    片が存在する部位に対応する位置において、少なくとも
    長手方向両側部に液体不透過性部を有することを特徴と
    する吸収性物品。
  2. 【請求項２】該液体不透過性部が、長手方向両側部全体
    にある請求項１記載の吸収性物品。
  3. 【請求項３】表面材が凹凸を有することを特徴とする請
    求項１又は２記載のの吸収性物品。
  4. 【請求項４】表面材の凹凸部の壁部に開孔部を有するこ
    とを特徴とする請求項３記載の吸収性物品。
  5. 【請求項５】表面材を構成する部材が、フィルムと繊維
    集合体を一体化した部材であることを特徴とする請求項
    ３記載の吸収性物品。
  6. 【請求項６】液体不透過性部の幅が各２〜20mmである請
    求項１又は２記載の吸収性物品。
  7. 【請求項７】液体不透過性部の幅が各３〜10mmである請
    求項１又は２記載の吸収性物品。
