Abstract

cBN 소결체와 경질 합금이 강고하게 접합한 복합체를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. cBN 소결체와, 경질 합금과, cBN 소결체와 경질 합금 사이에 있는 접합층으로 이루어지고, 접합층은 두께 0.1∼5㎛의 금속인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.

Description

복합체{COMPOSITE BODY}
본 발명은 cBN 소결체(입방정질화붕소 소결체)와 경질(硬質) 합금이 강고하게 접합해서 생긴 복합체에 관한 것이다.
cBN 소결체는 매우 단단하고 열전도율이 높은 재료이며, 그 특징을 살려서 절삭 공구 등으로 사용되고 있다. cBN 소결체를 제조하기 위해서는 대규모인 초고압 고온 발생 장치를 필요로 하므로 cBN 소결체는 매우 고가이다. 그 때문에 초경 합금 기재의 절삭에 관여하는 부위에만 cBN 소결체를 납땜한 cBN 공구가 사용되어 왔다. 그러나, 납땜에 의한 접합으로는 접합 강도에 난점이 있고, 특히 고온에서의 강도가 요구되는 절삭에 있어서는 충분한 강도가 얻어지지 않는다는 문제가 있었다.
납땜을 행하지 않고 cBN 소결체와 기재를 접합하는 방법으로서는 초경 합금 또는 공구강의 모재와 고경도 경질 합금의 절삭날 부분 사이에 티탄박을 개재시킨 상태에서 플라즈마 방전 소결법에 의해 일체 소결 접합해서 형성시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 절삭 공구가 있다(예를 들면, 특허문헌 1 참조.). 또한, 1쌍의 입방정질화붕소 소결체의 접합면에 0.01∼1㎛의 Ti 막을 형성하고, 이어서 0.01∼1㎛의 Cu 막을 형성한 후, 두께 10∼1000㎛의 Ag, Cu 및 In으로 이루어지는 삼원계 합금박을 상기 입방정질화붕소 소결체의 접합면에 끼워서 얻어진 것을 진공 중 또는 불활성 가스 분위기 중에 있어서 Ag, Cu 및 In으로 이루어지는 삼원계 합금의 융점 이상 750℃ 이하의 온도로 가열하는 것을 특징으로 하는 입방정질화붕소 소결체의 접합 방법이 있다(예를 들면, 특허문헌 2 참조.). 그러나, 이것들의 접합 방법은 금속박으로 만들어진 중간층이 두껍기 때문에 cBN 소결체와 기재의 접합 강도가 낮다고 하는 문제가 있다.

본 발명은 상기 문제를 해결하기 위해서 이루어진 것으로 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금이 강고하게 접합한 복합체를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
본 발명자가 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금의 접합에 대해서 연구를 행한 바, cBN 소결체와 경질 합금 사이에 두께 0.1∼5㎛의 금속으로 이루어지는 접합층을 형성하면, cBN 소결체와 경질 합금이 강고하게 접합한다는 것을 찾아냈다. 즉, 본 발명의 복합체는 cBN 소결체와, 경질 합금과, 그들 사이에 있는 접합층으로 이루어지고, 접합층은 두께 0.1∼5㎛의 금속으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 경질 합금은 절삭 공구로서 사용되는 경질 합금이면 특별히 한정되지 않지만, 예를 들면 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo 및 W의 탄화물, 질화물 및 이것들의 상호 고용체로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어지는 경질상: 50∼97질량%와, Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 주성분으로 하는 금속상: 3∼50질량%로 이루어지는 경질 합금을 예시할 수 있다. 본 발명의 경질 합금의 경질상으로서 구체적으로는 WC, TiC, TiN, Ti(C,N), (Ti,Nb) (C,N), (Ti,W,Ta)(C,N), (Ti,W,Nb,Zr)(C,N), (Ti,W,Mo,Nb)(C,N), ZrC, ZrN, Zr(C,N), NbC, Mo2C, (Ta,Nb)(C,N), (Ta,Nb,Hf)(C,N), (W,Nb)(C,N), (W,Mo)(C,N), (W,Mo,Nb)C 및 (W,Ta,Mo)(C,N) 등을 예시할 수 있지만, 이것들에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 또한, 본 발명의 경질 합금의 금속상은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 주성분으로 하는 금속이다. 본 발명의 경질 합금의 금속상은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 금속상 전체에 대해서 70∼100질량% 포함하지만, 주성분인 Co, Ni 및 Fe 이외에 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, C 및 N으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택되는 적어도 1종을 금속상 전체에 대해서 0∼30질량%의 양으로 포함해도 좋다.
본 발명의 cBN 소결체는 절삭 공구로서 사용되는 cBN 소결체이면 특별히 한정되지 않지만, 예를 들면 cBN(입방정질화규소)을 20∼100질량% 포함하는 소결체를 예시할 수 있고, cBN 이외의 잔부로서 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Co, Ni 및 Al의 금속, 탄화물, 질화물, 붕화물, 산화물, 및 이것들의 상호 고용체로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어지는 결합상을 0∼80질량%의 양으로 포함해도 좋다. 본 발명의 cBN 소결체의 결합상으로서 구체적으로는 TiN, Ti(C, N), TiC, TiB2, TiBN, TiAlN, Ti2AlN, AlN, AlB2, Al2O3, ZrC, HfC, VC, NbC, TaC, Cr3C2, Mo2C, ZrN, HfN, VN, NbN, TaN, CrN, WC, WB, W2B, CoWB, W2Co21B6, Co3W3C, W, Co 및 Ni 등을 예시할 수 있지만, 이것들에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 접합층은 두께 0.1∼5㎛의 금속으로 이루어진다. 접합층의 두께가 0.1㎛ 미만에서는 안정된 접합 강도를 얻을 수 없고, 접합층의 두께가 5㎛를 초과해서 두꺼워지면 접합 강도가 저하하기 때문에 두께 0.1∼5㎛의 금속으로 했다. 그 중에서도 두께 1∼3㎛가 바람직하다. 본 발명의 접합층은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 접합층 전체에 대해서 30∼100질량% 함유하고, 잔부로서 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Al, C, B 및 N으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 접합층 전체에 대해서 0∼70질량% 함유하는 금속이면 접합층 자체의 강도가 증가하여 접합 강도가 향상되기 때문에 더욱 바람직하다. 그 중에서도 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 접합층 전체에 대해서 70∼100질량% 함유하고, 잔부로서 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Al, C, B 및 N으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 접합층 전체에 대해서 0∼30질량% 함유하는 금속이면 더욱 바람직하다. 본 발명의 접합층은 접합 계면에 대해서 될 수 있는 한 두께가 균일하게 형성되는 것이 바람직하다.
본 발명의 복합체의 제조방법으로서, 예를 들면 이하의 방법을 예시할 수 있다. 우선, cBN 소결체와 경질 합금을 각각 경면 연마하여 아세톤 등의 유기용제로 탈지와 세정을 충분하게 행한 후, 핫 프레스 등의 장치를 사용해서 압력 0.5kgf/㎠ 이상의 하중을 가해서 진공 중에서 1100℃∼1250℃로 30∼150분간 유지한 후 냉각한다. 이것에 의해 경질 합금 중의 금속상이 경질 합금과 cBN 소결체의 접합 계면에 침출해서 접합층을 형성한다. 또한, 압력은 1000kgf/㎠를 초과해서 높아지면 경질 합금이 소성 변형하여 형상 변화가 지나치게 커지기 때문에 실용적으로는 0.5∼1000kgf/㎠가 바람직하고, 그 중에서도 0.5∼300kgf/㎠의 범위가 더욱 바람직하다. 또한, 이 접합층에는 cBN 소결체의 성분을 고용해도 바람직하다. 이 접합층을 통해서 경질 합금에 cBN 소결체의 성분이 확산되고, cBN 소결체에 경질 합금의 성분이 확산되어 강고한 접합이 가능해진다.
접합시의 온도는 1250℃를 초과해서 높아지면 cBN이 취약한 hBN(육방정질화붕소)으로 상변태하기 때문에 접합 강도가 저하한다. 한편, 접합시의 온도가 1100℃ 미만으로 되면 접합층이 형성되기 어렵고, 접합층이 형성될 때까지 시간이 걸리므로 경제적으로 불리하다. 또한, 유지 시간이 30분 미만이면 접합층이 안정되게 형성되기 어려워지고, 유지 시간이 150분을 초과해서 길어지면 접합층이 5㎛를 초과해서 두꺼워질 가능성이 높아진다. 그 때문에, 접합시의 접합 온도는 1100℃∼1250℃, 유지 시간은 30∼150분 사이이면 바람직하고, 더욱 바람직하게는 접합 온도가 1150℃∼1250℃, 유지 시간은 60∼120분 사이이다.
접합하기 위한 장치로서는 상기 핫 프레스에 한정하지 않고, 진공 중 또는 불활성 가스 중에서 승온 가능한 장치이면 어느 것이라도 좋다. 경질 합금과 cBN 소결체를 고정하기 위해서 하중을 가하면 바람직하지만, 승온 전에 지그 등으로 경질 합금과 cBN 소결체를 고정해서 승온하여 본 발명의 복합체를 제조하는 것도 바람직하다. 또한, 핫 프레스 등으로 높은 하중을 가해서 승온하면 경질 합금이 극미소하게 소성 변형해서 cBN 소결체와의 밀착도가 증가하고, 그 결과 저온 또한 단시간에 접합하는 것이 가능해지므로 보다 바람직하다.
본 발명의 복합체의 표면에 CVD법, PVD법 등에 의해 피막을 피복하면 내마모성을 더욱 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 발명의 복합체는 납땜된 종래의 cBN 공구보다 고온에서 피복하는 것이 가능하고, 그 때문에 본 발명의 피복 복합체는 종래의 피복 cBN 소결체보다 피막과 복합체의 밀착성을 높게 할 수 있다. 본 발명에 있어서의 피막은 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Al 및 Si의 탄화물, 질화물, 산화물, 붕화물, 및 이것들의 상호 고용체로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어진다. 본 발명의 피막으로서 구체적으로는 TiC, TiN, TiCN, TiAlN, TiSiN, AlCrN 및 Al2O3 등을 예시할 수 있다. 피막은 단층 또는 2층 이상의 적층 중 어느 것으로 구성되어도 바람직하고, 조성이 다른 층 두께 5∼200㎚의 얇은 층을 교대로 적층한 교대 적층막이어도 바람직하다. 피막 전체의 총 막두께는 평균 막두께로 0.3㎛ 미만이면 내마모성을 향상시키는 효과가 작고, 25㎛를 초과해서 두꺼워지면 내결손성이 저하하는 경향을 나타내기 때문에 피막 전체의 총 막두께는 평균 막두께로 0.3∼25㎛이면 바람직하다. 또한, 피막은 종래부터 있는 CVD법, PVD법에 의해서 피복될 수 있다.
본 발명의 복합체는 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금의 접합 강도가 높으므로 절삭 공구로서 사용하면 뛰어난 절삭 성능을 나타낸다. 절삭 공구로서 구체적으로는 선삭용 공구, 프레이즈용 공구, 드릴, 엔드밀 등을 예시할 수 있다. 납땜의 접합 강도가 문제가 되는 가혹한 사용 조건 하에 있어서도 본 발명의 절삭 공구용 복합체는 사용 가능하고, 본 발명의 절삭 공구용 복합체는 뛰어난 절삭 성능을 나타낸다. 또한, 본 발명의 피복 복합체는 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금의 접합 강도가 높아 피막과 복합체의 밀착성이 높으므로 절삭 공구용 피복 복합체는 뛰어난 절삭 성능을 나타낸다.
(발명의 효과)
본 발명의 복합체는 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금의 접합 강도가 높다고 하는 효과를 준다. 본 발명의 피복 복합체는 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금의 접합 강도가 높아 피막과 복합체의 밀착성이 높다고 하는 효과를 준다.
(실시예 1)
표 1에 나타낸 조성을 가지는 지름 30㎜, 두께 1.5㎜의 원반 형상의 cBN 소결체와, 표 2에 나타내는 조성을 가지는 지름 30㎜, 두께 3.0㎜의 원반 형상의 경질 합금을 준비했다. 모든 시료에 대해서 접합하는 면을 다이아몬드 지립 등을 사용해서 경면 연마한 후 아세톤 중에서 10분간 초음파 세정을 행했다. 그 후, 핫 프레스 장치를 사용해서 cBN 소결체가 접합되는 면과 경질 합금이 접합되는 면을 서로 겹치고, 표 3에 나타낸 하중을 가하면서 진공 중에서 실온으로부터 표 3에 나타낸 접합 온도까지 승온하여 표 3에 나타낸 접합 압력, 접합 온도 및 유지 시간으로 유지한 후, 냉각했다. 냉각 후에 하중을 가해서 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금을 접합한 복합체를 얻었다.

얻어진 복합체로부터 10×10×4.5㎜의 조성 분석용 시험편 및 15×15×4.5㎜의 전단 시험편을 와이어 컷으로 잘라냈다. 접합층의 두께는 SEM을 사용해서 측정하고, 접합층의 조성은 EDS에 의해 분석했다. 전단 시험은 만능 시험기를 사용해서 경질 합금측을 고정하고, cBN 소결체측의 계면 근방을 상측으로부터 하중을 가해서 전단 강도를 측정했다. 각 시료의 접합층의 두께와 조성 및 전단 강도는 표 4에 나타냈다.

표 4로부터 발명품은 전단 강도가 높다는 것을 알 수 있다. 비교품 1은 접합 온도가 낮아 충분하게 접합층이 형성되지 않았기 때문에 대부분 접합되어 있지 않았다. 비교품 2는 유지 시간이 길어 접합층이 지나치게 두꺼워져서 전단 강도가 저하했다. 또한, 1350℃와 고온에서의 접합이기 때문에 cBN 소결체 중의 cBN이 hBN으로 상변태하여 전단 강도가 저하했다. 비교품 3은 접합층이 매우 얇으므로 접합층을 조성 분석할 수 없었다. 비교품 3은 비교품 1과 마찬가지로 접합 온도가 낮아 충분하게 접합층이 형성되지 않았기 때문에 대부분 접합되어 있지 않았다. 비교품 4는 비교품 2와 마찬가지로 접합층이 지나치게 두꺼워져서 전단 강도가 저하했다. 또한, 비교품 4는 접합층 중의 Co량이 적어 접합층 자체의 강도가 저하하여 전단 강도가 저하했다. 비교품 5 및 비교품 8은 비교품 2와 마찬가지로 접합 온도가 높아 cBN이 hBN으로 상변태하여 전단 강도가 저하했다. 비교품 6은 접합 시간이 길어 접합층 두께가 두껍기 때문에 전단 강도가 저하했다. 비교품 7은 접합 압력이 높아 접합 중에 경질 합금이 소성 변형해서 접합할 수 없었다.
(실시예 2)
조성이 60질량% cBN-40질량% 결합상(결합상의 조성: TiN, Al2O3, AlN)인 지름 30㎜, 두께 1.5㎜의 원반 형상의 cBN 소결체와, 조성이 89질량% WC-11질량% 금속상(금속상의 조성: 95질량% Co-4질량% W-1질량% C)인 지름 30㎜, 두께 3.0㎜의 원반 형상의 경질 합금을 준비했다. cBN 소결체와 초경 합금에 대해서 접합하는 면을 다이아몬드 지립 등을 사용해서 경면 연마한 후, 아세톤 중에서 10분간 초음파 세정을 행했다. 그 후, 핫 프레스 장치를 사용해서 cBN 소결체가 접합되는 면과 경질 합금이 접합되는 면을 서로 겹치고, 시료의 위치가 벗어나지 않도록 압력 1kgf/㎠의 하중을 가하면서 진공 중에서 실온으로부터 1250℃까지 승온하고, 1250℃의 접합 온도에서 60분간 유지한 후 냉각했다. 냉각 후에 하중을 낮추어 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금을 접합한 복합체를 얻었다. 얻어진 복합체를 와이어 컷에 의해 잘라내고, 연삭 가공에 의해 ISO 규격 CNGA120408 형상 절삭 인서트로 가공한 공구 1을 제작했다(본 발명품 1 상당품). 또한, 공구 1의 표면에 PVD법에 의해 평균 막두께 3㎛의 Ti(C,N)막을 피복한 공구 2를 제작했다. 비교품으로서 조성이 60질량% cBN-40질량% 결합상(결합상의 조성: TiN, Al2O3, AlN)인 지름 30㎜, 두께 1.5㎜의 원반 형상의 cBN 소결체로부터 3×3×1.5㎜ 형상으로 잘라내어 종래의 cBN 공구와 마찬가지로 초경 합금제 기판에 납땜하고, ISO 규격 CNGA120408 형상 절삭 인서트로 가공해서 공구 3을 얻었다.
공구 1, 공구 2 및 공구 3을 사용해서 경화강 단속 가공을 행했다. 가공 조건은 절삭 속도 Vc=100m/분, 절삭 깊이 ap=0.5㎜, 공급 f=0.25㎜/rev로 해서 2개의 U형 슬롯이 형성된 환봉을 외경 선삭 가공했다. 그 결과, 공구 3은 절삭 시간 8분에서 납땜부로부터 크게 결손했다. 한편, 공구 1은 절삭 시간 15분까지는 가공 가능했지만, 절삭 시간 15분에서 cBN 소결체에 플레이킹이 발생했다. 그러나, 공구 1은 cBN 소결체와 경질 합금의 접합면에서 박리되지 않았다. 공구 2는 절삭 시간 24분에서 cBN 소결체에 플레이킹이 발생했지만, 공구 1과 마찬가지로 접합면에서 박리되지 않았다. 이상과 같이, 공구 1은 접합 강도가 높아 절삭 공구로서 뛰어난 성능을 발휘하여 공구 수명을 연장할 수 있었다. 공구 1의 표면에 피막을 피복한 공구 2에서는 공구 수명을 더욱 연장할 수 있었다. 한편, 공구 3은 절삭 초기에 납땜부로부터 결손되었다.

  1. cBN 소결체와, 경질 합금과, cBN 소결체와 경질 합금 사이에 있는 접합층으로 이루어지고, 상기 접합층은 두께 0.1∼5㎛의 금속으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 접합층은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택되는 적어도 1종을 30∼100질량% 함유하는 금속인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  3. 제 2 항에 있어서,
    상기 접합층은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 접합층 전체에 대해서 30∼100질량% 함유하고, Co, Ni 및 Fe 이외에 잔부로서 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Al, C, B 및 N으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 접합층 전체에 대해서 0∼70질량% 함유하는 금속인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  4. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 접합층은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택되는 적어도 1종을 70∼100질량% 함유하는 금속인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  5. 제 4 항에 있어서,
    상기 접합층은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 접합층 전체에 대해서 70∼100질량% 함유하고, Co, Ni, Fe 이외에 잔부로서 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Al, C, B 및 N으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 접합층 전체에 대해서 0∼30질량% 함유하는 금속인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  6. 제 1 항 내지 제 5 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
    상기 cBN 소결체는 cBN을 20∼100질량% 포함하는 cBN 소결체인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.

    상기 cBN 소결체는 cBN을 20∼100질량% 포함하고, cBN 이외의 잔부로서 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Co, Ni 및 Al의 금속, 탄화물, 질화물, 붕화물, 산화물, 및 이것들의 상호 고용체로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어지는 결합상을 0∼80질량%의 양으로 포함하는 cBN 소결체인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  8. 제 7 항에 있어서,
    상기 cBN 소결체의 결합상은 TiN, Ti(C,N), TiC, TiB2, TiBN, TiAlN, Ti2AlN, AlN, AlB2, Al2O3, ZrC, HfC, VC, NbC, TaC, Cr3C2, Mo2C, ZrN, HfN, VN, NbN, TaN, CrN, WC, WB, W2B, CoWB, W2Co21B6, Co3W3C, W, Co 및 Ni로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어지는 결합상인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  9. 제 1 항 내지 제 8 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
    상기 경질 합금은 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo 및 W의 탄화물, 질화물, 및 이것들의 상호 고용체로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어지는 경질상: 50∼97질량%와, 잔부로서 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 주성분으로 하는 금속상: 3∼50질량%로 이루어지는 경질 합금인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  10. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 경질 합금의 경질상은 WC, TiC, TiN, Ti(C,N), (Ti,Nb)(C,N), (Ti,W,Ta)(C,N), (Ti,W,Nb,Zr)(C,N), (Ti,W,Mo,Nb)(C,N), ZrC, ZrN, Zr(C,N), NbC, Mo2C, (Ta,Nb)(C,N), (Ta,Nb,Hf)(C,N), (W,Nb)(C,N), (W,Mo)(C,N), (W,Mo,Nb)C 및 (W,Ta,Mo)(C,N)으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어지는 경질상인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  11. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 경질 합금의 금속상은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 금속상 전체에 대해서 70∼100질량% 포함하고, Co, Ni 및 Fe 이외에 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, C 및 N으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택되는 적어도 1종을 금속상 전체에 대해서 0∼30질량%의 양으로 포함하는 금속상인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  12. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 경질 합금의 경질상은 WC, TiC, TiN, Ti(C,N), (Ti,Nb)(C,N), (Ti,W,Ta)(C,N), (Ti,W,Nb,Zr)(C,N), (Ti,W,Mo,Nb)(C,N), ZrC, ZrN, Zr(C,N), NbC, Mo2C, (Ta,Nb)(C,N), (Ta,Nb,Hf)(C,N), (W,Nb)(C,N), (W,Mo)(C,N), (W,Mo,Nb)C 및 (W,Ta,Mo)(C,N)으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어지는 경질상이고, 상기 경질 합금의 금속상은 Co, Ni 및 Fe로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종을 금속상 전체에 대해서 70∼100질량% 이상 포함하며, Co, Ni 및 Fe 이외에 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, C 및 N으로 이루어지는 군에서 선택되는 적어도 1종을 금속상 전체에 대해서 0∼30질량%의 양으로 포함하는 금속상인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합체.
  13. 제 1 항 내지 제 12 항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 복합체의 표면에 피막을 피복한 것을 특징으로 하는 피복 복합체.
  14. 제 13 항에 있어서,
    상기 피막은 Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Al 및 Si의 탄화물, 질화물, 산화물, 붕화물, 및 이것들의 상호 고용체로 이루어지는 군에서 선택된 적어도 1종으로 이루어지고, 상기 피막 전체의 총 막두께는 평균 막두께로 0.3∼25㎛인 것을 특징으로 하는 피복 복합체.
  15. 제 1 항 내지 제 12 항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 복합체를 절삭 공구로서 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 절삭 공구용 복합체.
  16. 제 13 항 또는 제 14 항에 기재된 피복 복합체를 절삭 공구로서 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 절삭 공구용 피복 복합체.
