Claims (16)
- 외부 조도를 감지하는 조도 감지부;상기 조도 감지부에서 측정된 조도에 따라 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 휘도를 결정하는 휘도 결정부;상기 휘도 결정부로부터 결정된 휘도에 해당하는 구동 전류의 포화 영역에 도달하는 구동 전압을 결정하는 구동 전압 결정부;상기 구동 전압 결정부로부터의 구동 전압을 공급하도록, 입력 전압보다 높은 제1 전압 및 입력 전압보다 낮은 제2 전압을 생성하는 전압 변환부; 및상기 전압 변환부로부터의 전압들을 인가받고, 상기 구동 전류에 대응하는 휘도를 갖는 화상을 구현하는 표시부;를 포함하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 조도 감지부는 포토 센서를 포함하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 휘도 결정부에는 상기 조도 감지부에 의해 감지된 조도에 따른 상기 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 휘도를 기록한 제1 룩업 테이블(lookup table) 또는 상기 조도와 상기 휘도의 관계를 나타낸 제1 그래프가 저장된 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 구동 전압 결정부에는 상기 휘도 결정부에 의해 결정된 휘도에 따라 포화 영역에서의 구동 전압을 기록한 제2 룩업 테이블(lookup table) 또는 상기 휘도와 상기 구동 전압의 관계를 나타낸 제2 그래프가 저장된 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 표시부는 복수의 화소들을 구비하고,각 화소는 게이트 전극에 데이터 전압이 인가되고 제1 전극에 상기 제1 전압이 인가되는 구동 트랜지스터; 및상기 구동 트랜지스터의 제2 전극에 애노드(anode) 전극이 연결되고, 캐소드(cathode) 전극에 상기 제2 전압이 인가되는 유기 발광 다이오드;를 포함하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 전압 변환부는 상기 구동 전압 결정부로부터의 구동 전압에 해당하는 제2 전압을 생성하도록 조절하는 가변 저항을 구비하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 전압 변환부는 상기 제1 전압을 생성하는 부스터 컨버터(booster converter)와상기 제2 전압을 생성하는 벅 컨버터(buck converter)를 포함하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 상기 전압 변환부는 상기 벅 컨버터의 출력 전압을 결정하는 저항을 상기 구동 전압 결정부로부터의 구동 전압에 따라 조절되는 가변 저항으로 형성한 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 외부 조도를 감지하는 단계;감지한 상기 조도에 따른 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 휘도를 결정하는 단계;결정된 상기 휘도에 해당하는 구동 전류의 포화 영역에 도달하는 구동 전압을 결정하는 단계;상기 구동 전압을 공급하도록, 입력 전압보다 높은 제1 전압 및 입력 전압보다 낮은 제2 전압을 생성하는 단계; 및상기 제1 전압 및 상기 제2 전압과, 상기 휘도에 대응하는 구동 전류를 표시부에 공급하는 단계;를 포함하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 외부 조도와 상기 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 휘도를 데이터 베이스화한 제1 룩업 테이블 또는 상기 외부 조도와 상기 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 휘도 관계를 나타낸 제1 그래프를 형성하는 단계를 더 포함하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 10 항에 있어서, 상기 휘도를 결정함은 상기 제1 룩업 테이블 또는 상기 제1 그래프를 이용하여 감지한 상기 외부 조도에 해당하는 휘도를 선택하는 것임을 특징으로 하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 휘도와 상기 구동 전압을 데이터 베이스화한 제2 룩업 테이블 또는 상기 휘도와 상기 구동 전압 관계를 나타낸 제2 그래프를 형성하는 단계를 더 포함하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 12 항에 있어서, 상기 구동 전압을 결정함은 상기 제2 룩업 테이블 또는 상기 제2 그래프를 이용하여 상기 휘도에 대응하는 구동 전압을 선택하는 것임을 특징으로 하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전압을 생성함은 상기 결정된 구동 전압에 해당하는 제어 신호에 따라 상기 제2 전압을 결정하는 저항을 조절하여 상기 제2 전압을 생성하는 것임을 특징으로 하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 표시부는 복수의 화소들을 구비하고,각 화소는 게이트 전극에 데이터 전압이 인가되는 구동 트랜지스터; 및상기 구동 트랜지스터에 애노드 전극이 연결된 유기 발광 다이오드;를 포함하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 15 항에 있어서, 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 제1 전극에 상기 제1 전압을 인가하고,상기 유기 발광 다이오드의 캐소드 전극에 상기 제2 전압을 인가하는 유기 발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
