Claims (14)
- 표시 영역 내에 TFT 어레이와 이 TFT 어레이에 구동되어 화소부를 구성하는 도전막을 갖는 제 1 기판에, 제 2 기판이 간극을 갖고 붙여지며, 상기 간극 안에 액정을 끼워 이루어지는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법에 있어서,상기 제 1기판 위에, 상기 TFT 어레이를 형성함과 동시에, 상기 표시영역의 근방 주변의 일부 또는 전부에 상기 TFT 어레이를 구성하는 재료와 동일한 재료에 의해 장벽을 형성하는 TFT 어레이 형성공정을 구비하고,상기 TFT의 소스 또는 드레인 단자와 상기 도전막을 접속하는 콘택홀을 형성함과 동시에, 상기 장벽의 외형을 에칭하는 콘택홀 형성공정을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 표시 영역의 외측에 배치하는 액정구동회로를 접속하는 단자부 영역과 상기 표시영역과의 사이에 위치하고, 상기 TFT 어레이가 인접하는 게이트 구동용 배선의 간극 또는 인접하는 소스 구동용 배선의 간극의 적어도 한쪽을, 상기 표시영역의 근방 주변으로서 상기 TFT 어레이를 구성하는 재료와 동일한 재료에 의해 상기 장벽을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 장벽을 구성하는 재료로서, 게이트층, 게이트 절연막, 반도체층, 소스/드레인층, 보호막을 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 TFT 어레이의 형성공정은, 측벽면에 게이트 절연막 또는 보호막을 갖는 상기 장벽을 형성하는 공정을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,세정용 브러시를 상기 장벽에 접촉시켜 통과시킨 후, 상기 표시 영역에 접촉시켜서 상기 제 1 기판의 세정을 실시하는 세정 공정을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 TFT 어레이가 형성된 표시 영역과 상기 장벽의 상부에, 상기 액정을 배향시키는 배향막을 동시에 형성하는 배향막 형성공정을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 6항에 있어서,상기 배향막 형성공정은, 상기 장벽 위에 형성하는 배향막을 상기 표시영역 위에 형성하는 배향막의 높이보다 높게 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 6항에 있어서,러빙용 천을 상기 장벽 위의 배향막에 접촉시켜 통과시킨 후, 상기 표시 영역 상의 배향막에 접촉시켜서 러빙을 행하는 러빙 공정을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 TFT 어레이 형성공정은, 구분된 복수의 표시영역을 구비한 상기 제 1기판에, 상기 각 표시영역 내에 TFT 어레이를 형성함과 동시에, 상기 각 표시 영역을 구분하는 경계에 상기 장벽을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 1항 또는 제2항에 기재된 제조방법에 의해 제조된 액정표시장치.
