Claims (17)
- 통전에 의해 발광하는 발광수단;적어도 제1단자, 제2단자를 구비하고, 상기 제1단자와 상기 제2단자 사이에 인가되는 소정의 구동 임계값 보다 높은 전위차에 따라 상기 발광수단의 발광을 제어하는 드라이버수단;상기 드라이버수단의 상기 제1단자와 상기 제2단자 사이에 있어서의 상기 구동 임계값에 대응한 임계값 전압을 검출하는 임계값 전압검출수단; 및상기 드라이버수단에 접속된 용량가변수단을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 화상표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 용량가변수단의 용량값은 상기 드라이버수단의 단자간에 존재하는 기생용량, 및 상기 임계값 전압검출수단이 갖는 단자간에 존재하는 기생용량의 크기에 따라 그 값이 결정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 임계값 전압검출수단에 접속되는 선택신호선과 상기 선택신호선에 접속되는 제어신호선이 적어도 일부 공용되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 용량가변수단은 박막 트랜지스터 및 상기 박막 트랜지 스터와 접속된 용량소자를 포함한 접속회로이며, 상기 접속회로의 일단이 상기 드라이버수단에 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 용량가변수단은 제1전극, 상기 제1전극보다 소면적인 제2전극, 상기 제1전극과 상기 제2전극 사이에 배치되는 절연층 및 채널층을 구비한 가변용량소자인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상표시장치.

- 통전에 의해 발광하는 발광소자;게이트 전극, 소스 전극, 및 드레인 전극을 갖고, 상기 소스 전극 및 상기 드레인 전극 중 어느 한쪽의 전극이 상기 발광 소자에 전기적으로 접속되는 구동 트랜지스터;주사 신호에 따라 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 상기 게이트 전극과 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 상기 한쪽의 전극을 단락하는 스위칭 트랜지스터; 및상기 구동 트랜지스터의 게이트 전극에 접속되는 용량가변수단을 구비한 화상표시장치의 구동방법에 있어서:상기 구동 트랜지스터 및 상기 스위칭 트랜지스터를 온으로 설정함으로써, 상기 스위칭 트랜지스터를 통해 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 게이트 전극과 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 상기 소스 전극 및 상기 드레인 전극 중 다른쪽의 전극을 전기적으로 접속하고, 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 상기 다른쪽의 전극에 대한 상기 게이트 전극의 전위를 구동 임계값으로 하는 제1공정;상기 구동 트랜지스터를 오프로 설정함과 아울러 상기 스위칭 트랜지스터를 온으로 설정함으로써, 상기 발광 소자의 휘도전위를 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 게이트 전극에 공급하는 제2공정; 및상기 구동 트랜지스터를 온으로 설정함과 아울러 상기 스위칭 트랜지스터를 오프로 설정함으로써, 상기 발광 소자에 통전을 행하고, 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 게이트 전극에 공급된 상기 휘도전위에 기초하여 상기 발광 소자를 발광시키는 제3공정을 포함하고:상기 구동 트랜지스터의 상기 다른쪽의 전극에 대한 상기 게이트 전극의 전위를 구동 임계값으로 하는 제1공정에 있어서의 상기 용량가변수단의 용량값과, 상기 발광 소자를 발광시키는 제3공정에 있어서의 상기 용량가변수단의 용량값을 다르게 함으로써, 상기 발광 소자의 발광 휘도에 대한 상기 구동 트랜지스터 및 상기 스위칭 트랜지스터의 기생용량의 영향을 억제한 것을 특징으로 하는 화상표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제13항에 있어서, 상기 용량가변수단의 용량값은 상기 발광 소자를 발광시키는 제3공정보다 상기 구동 트랜지스터의 상기 다른쪽의 전극에 대한 상기 게이트 전극의 전위를 구동 임계값으로 하는 제1공정의 쪽이 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 화상표시장치의 구동방법.
