いずれにせよ、熱可塑性接着剤は炭素繊維フィラメント群を横方向につなげていればよい。
強化用繊維として三菱レイヨン社製炭素繊維フィラメント群(15K)、トータル繊度1000g/1000mを使用し、この炭素繊維フィラメント群を図4に示す方法で補強用シートを製造した。熱可塑性接着剤は東亜合成社製、商品名"アロンメルトPPET150SG30"(スチレン−エチレン/ブチレン−スチレンブロック共重合体15〜25質量%、トルエン30〜40質量%、ノルマルヘキサン30〜40質量%、ロジンエステル等の粘着付与剤5〜15質量%、固形パラフィン2質量%以下、粘度220mPa・s(25℃))を使用した。この接着剤を乾燥質量で、開繊後の炭素繊維フィラメント群に対し5g/m2の割合で付与した。ライン速度は10m/minとした。得られた補強用シートを図1A−Bに示す。この補強用シートの幅は100mm、厚みは0.03mm、単位面積当たりの質量は55g/m2であった。各成分の割合は、補強用炭素繊維シートを100質量%としたとき、炭素繊維フィラメント群が91質量%、熱可塑性接着剤が9質量%であった。
強化用繊維として実施例1と同じものを使用した。この強化用繊維とフィルム状ホットメルト接着剤を用いて、補強用炭素繊維シートを作成した。具体的には、開繊後の炭素繊維フィラメント群を30cm角に切断し、その上からマレイン酸変性ポリプロピレン樹脂からなるフィルム状接着剤(厚み50μm、目付45g/m2)を載置した。載置後、熱プレス機により温度140℃、プレス圧3Mpaにより強化用繊維とフィルム状ホットメルト接着剤を一体化し、補強用炭素繊維シートを得た。なお、この場合の各成分の割合は、補強用炭素繊維シートを100質量%としたとき、炭素繊維フィラメント群が53質量%、熱可塑性接着剤が47質量%であった。

Claims (8)
- 炭素繊維フィラメント群が一方向に並列状に配列されており、前記炭素繊維フィラメント群の長さ方向を横切る方向の少なくとも一部には熱可塑性接着剤が存在して一体化され、シートを構成している補強用炭素繊維シート。
- 前記シートの厚みは0.02〜0.5mmである請求項1に記載の補強用炭素繊維シート。
- 前記シートの単位面積当たりの質量は30〜150g/m2である請求項1又は2に記載の補強用炭素繊維シート。
- 前記炭素繊維フィラメント群と熱可塑性接着剤の割合は、補強用炭素繊維シートを100質量%としたとき、炭素繊維フィラメント群が95〜20質量%、熱可塑性接着剤が5〜80質量%である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の補強用炭素繊維シート。
- 前記熱可塑性接着剤は溶剤系接着剤及びホットメルト系接着剤から選ばれる少なくとも一つである請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の補強用炭素繊維シート。
- 前記熱可塑性接着剤は、ゴム系接着剤及び酸変性ポリオレフィン系接着剤から選ばれる少なくとも一つである請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の補強用炭素繊維シート。
- 前記炭素繊維フィラメント群に対して熱可塑性接着剤は全面に存在している請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の補強用炭素繊維シート。
- 前記炭素繊維フィラメント群に対して熱可塑性接着剤が一部に存在する場合は、下記の(1)〜(6)のいずれか一つである請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の補強用炭素繊維シート。
