Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a wire material of a high Tc (critical temperature) by sticking and firing an oxide superconductive layer around a metallic thin wire having heat resistance and oxidation resistance. CONSTITUTION:Oxide superconductive powder and organic binder are mixed to make slurry. A heat-resistant, oxidation-resistant, thin metallic wire is passed through the slurry to make the slurry of oxide superconductor stick around the thin metallic wire. The wire material is then heated to decompose the organic binder contained in the slurry and is further fired in the ambient atmosphere or in an oxygen atmosphere up to a temperature at which the oxide superconductive powder is sintered to obtain a wire material with the superconductive layer formed around the metallic thin wire. This makes it possible to easily obtain the wire material having a high Tc and no electric resistance.
