Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a long wire with high current density by coating a rein forcement on its periphery with a mixture solution in which mixture powder is dispersed, that consists of components producing ceramic superconductor through heating under oxidating atmosphere, and by sintering the result in oxidating atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A mixture solution, in which mixture powder consisting of components producing ceramic superconductor through heating in oxidating atmosphere is dispersed in a medium, is coated on the periphery of a long reinforcement 4 covered with a metal not producing oxides at high temp. or an alloy therefrom. Then the mixture powder is sintered in oxidating atmosphere to produce a ceramic superconductor 5, and the sintered body is covered on its outside with a stabilizing material 6, which is covered on its outside with insulation 7. This does not require quick cooling for making it amorphous to permit easy manufacture of longer wires, and besides them heat treatment for producing ceramic superconductor can be performed in long wire condition, that should enable manufacture of wires for practical service equipped with high critical current density.
