Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture superconductive wire with high current density by turning component materials producing ceramic superconductor by oxidation into a wire and then performing heat treatment for making it ceramics. CONSTITUTION:Component materials producing ceramic superconductor by heat treatment in oxidating atmosphere are dissolved and cast, and the cast rod is area reduced to form a wire 3, which is covered with a metal not producing oxide at high temp. or alloy thereof and glass 5 in molten condition. The outermost layer of this glass 5 is removed and a heat treatment is performed in oxidating atmosphere at a temp. below the melting point of the metal or alloy 4 to produce superconductor. This enables producing fine perovskite crystals taking a long time, to allow manufacture of wires with high current density.
