Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled chemical admixture by incorporating an amidosulfonate in the original admixture containing calcium thiocyanate and calcium nitrite to prevent generation of toxic NOx and hydrogen cyanide gas even contaminated with any strong acid by accident.
CONSTITUTION: The objective chemical admixture can be obtained by incorporating (A) the original admixture containing calcium thiocyanate and calcium nitrite (and aminoalcohol) with (B) an amidosulfonate. The amount of the calcium nitrite is pref. ≥0.8mol. per mole of the calcium thiocyanate. When this chemical admixture is contaminated with a strong acid, a reaction occurs quantitatively between the calcium nitrite and the aminosulfonic acid to generate N2 gas Because of no generation of NOx, the calcium thiocyanate little decomposes, thus generating no hydrogen cyanide gas. Furthermore, this chemical admixture gives cure accelerability comparable to that of calcium chloride.
