Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thin film magnetic head excellent in high frequency characteristics by reducing the crystallizing temp. of an amorphous magnetic film used for a magnetic film core formed lately in a thin film forming process. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous magnetic film with lower crystallizing temp. is arranged on an upper layer position in the thin film forming process and the film. with a lower crystallizing temperature is annealed in a magnetic field in a lower temperature. Namely, anisotropy of a lower magnetic layer 1 is applied at a higher temp. and a sufficient annealing temperature difference is formed between upper and lower magnetic layers. Thereby, even if the patterned lower magnetic layer 1 is exposed to intra-magnetic field annealing processing for an upper magnetic layer 2, the anisotropy applied to the layer 1 is not almost disturbed. Thereby, both the upper and lower magnetic layers can having proper anisotropy and higher magnetic permeability can be held up to a high frequency area. Consequently, a magnetic head excellent in performance can be obtained. Especially, the excellent performance can be obtained also in a narrow track.
