Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the assembling processes and thus increase the mass-productivity, by forming a thin-film magnetic head at the hollow area on the carrier of the magnetic head by the thin-film technique. CONSTITUTION:The hollow area 12 is formed at the front edge part of the thin plate 11 by the photoetching method or the like, and then the 1st insulated layer 16 to secure an insulation between the magnetic head 13 and the plate 11. Then the ferromagnetic thin film to be used as the lower magnetic circuit 17 is formed on the layer 16 by the photoetching and other methods to be then formed into a prescribed shape. After this, the 2nd insulated layer 18 is provided to secure an insulation between the circuit 17 and the coil 22 formed on the circuit 17. A metal thin film is formed to be used as the coil 22 to be formed into a prescribed shape. The 3rd insulated layer 19 is formed on the coil 22 to give an insulation between the coil and the upper magnetic circuit 20 which is formed on the layer 19 which is formed in the same way as the circuit 17. Then the protective film 25 is formed on the circuit 20, and both the magnetic head gap part 21 and the surface 23 of the thin plate are set on the same level. As a result, the assembling processes can be decreased greatly.
