Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to form an electroluminescent element provided with one luminescent layer for both-sided luminescence easily by coating a luminescent layer with paste of transparent powders of conductive matter scattered in binder resin so as to form a counter electrode and enclosing them in sealing film. CONSTITUTION:A luminescent layer 8 is formed on the surface of transparent film 2 of synthetic resin by coating a layer 6 of fluorescent material and a layer 7 of dielectric by screen printing or the like on the surface of a transparent electrode film 1 having an electrode member 3 consisting of ITO or the like formed by deposition or the like. Next a counter transparent electrode 9 having transparent conductive matter of indium oxide scattered in binder is laminated on the layer 7 of dielectric. The electrode 9 is formed by coating paste of powders of conductive matter scattered in binder resin dissolved in solvent on the layer 7 of dielectric. This laminated body of a luminescent part composed of a luminescent layer 8 consisting of the film 1, the layer 6 of fluorescent material, and the layer 7 of dielectric, and the counter transparent electrode 9 is connected with terminals 10, 10 at the film 1 and the electrode 9 respectively, and the whole laminated body of the luminescent part is enclosed in sealing film 11.
