Abstract
<FORM:0943756/C3/1> An electroluminescent display panel comprises between an electrode 20 and a transparent electrode 22 coated on a glass substrate 21 an electroluminescent layer 23, e.g. a copper activated zinc sulphate phosphor embedded in a thermo-hardening di-electric material, an electrically non-linear layer 25 whose impedance decreases as the voltage increases, composed of cadmium sulphide particles embedded in a glass enamel, and an intermediate impedance matching electrode 24 of tin oxide or gold. The two outer electrodes 22, 26 may be in the form of two crossed sets of parallel separated electrical conductors defining individual light cells, and it is stated that spurious luminescent patterns are eliminated.
