Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
本発明は、機能液用添加剤として使用できるベ
ンゾトリアゾール誘導体及びその製造方法に関す
るものである。 ベンゾトリアゾール及びその誘導体は、長年の
間ある種の範囲の基質に対する金属不動化剤、特
に銅不動化剤として知られていた。しかしながら
ベンゾトリアゾールそれ自体及びその誘導体の多
くは、溶解度が特に鉱油に対して低いので適用範
囲が限られていた。 本発明者等はここにおいて水性及び鉱油を基材
とした媒質を含む広い範囲の機能液媒質に対し
て、改良されたレベルの溶解度を、高いレベルの
金属不動化作用とともに兼ね備えているこれまで
知られていないベンゾトリアゾール誘導体を発見
した。 即ち、本発明は次式： 〔式中、 Ａは、ベンゼン基を表わし、非置換でもよくま
たは特に炭素原子数１〜４の１個のアルキル基で
置換されていてもよく、 R1及びR2は同種でも異種でもよくそして各々
は 次式：R3O（アルキレン）（式中、R3は水素原
子または炭素原子数１〜４のアルキル基を表わ
し、“アルキレン”は炭素原子数２または３の直
鎖または枝分れ鎖アルキレン基を表わす。）で表
わされる基、 炭素原子数３〜20のアルケニル基を表わすか、
もしくは R1は前記で表わした意味を有し、そしてR2は式
： （式中、Ａは前述で表わす意味を表わす。）で
表わされる基を表わす。〕で表わされる新ベンゾ
トリアゾール誘導体の新規化合物を提供するもの
である。 上記式で表わされる化合物はマンニツヒ塩基
である。 その上、式で表わされる化合物のＮ原子に位
置する置換基が極性機能を構成することが好まし
い。特にR1及びR2の少なくとも１つそして好ま
しくは各々が次式：R3O―（アルキレン）―（式
中、R3は前述で表わす意味を有し、そして好ま
しくはＨである。）で表わされる基であることが
好ましい。 Ａが置換されたベンゼン基である場合、置換基
は好ましくは炭素原子数１〜４のアルキル基特に
メチル基である。 R1及び／またはR2がアルケニル基の場合、該
基は炭素原子数３〜20を含み、例えばアリル、ブ
テニル、オクテニル、デセニル、ドデセニル、テ
トラデセニル及びオクタデセニル（オレイル）で
ある。 R1及び／またはR2がR3O（アルキレン）―で
あるとき、R3は水素原子または炭素原子数１〜
４のアルキル基であり、例えばヒドロキシエチ
ル、メトキシエチル、ｎ―ブトキシエチル基であ
る。 R1が前述の意味の１つまたは別のものである
とき、R2が他の意味、即ち上記式（式中、Ａ
は前述の定義のようにかなり好ましい意味を有利
に有する。）で表わされる基を表わす。 本発明による特に好ましい化合物の例を以下に

ゾール 本発明はまた次式： （式中、Ａは前記の意味を表わす。） で表わされる化合物を、ホルムアルデヒド及び次
式： （式中、R1及びR2は前記の意味を表わす。）で
表わされるアミンと反応させることから成る上記
式で表わされる化合物の製造方法を提供するも
のである。 本発明による製造方法に用いられる適当な出発
物質である式で表わされる化合物は、ベンゾト
リアゾール、ベンズイミダゾール及び英国特許第
1065995号明細書中に記載及びクレームされてい
る化合物（５―アルキルベンゾトリアゾール）を
含むが、化合物はベンゾトリアゾール自体であ
る。 ホルムアルデヒド反応物は、市販品の形状で即
ちホルマリンまたはパラホルムアルデヒドで有利
に用いられる。 上記式で表わされるアミン化合物の適当な例
は次式：R1NH2（式中、R1は前記で表わした意
味を有する。）で表わされる第一アミン及び次
式： （式中、R1及びR2は前記で表わした意味を有
する。）で表わされる第二アミンである。 上記式及びで表わされる化合物とホルムア
ルデヒドとの相対的割合は上記式で表わされる
アミンが第一あるいは第二アミンである場合によ
つて変化することができる。式で表わされるア
ミンが第一アミンの場合、化合物：ホルムアル
デヒド：アミンのモル比は、実質的には2.0：
2.0：1.0または1.0：1.0：1.0のいずれかであり、
アミンが第二アミンの場合、化合物：ホルム
アルデヒド：アミンのモル比は好ましくは実質
的に1.0：1.0：1.0である。 本発明による方法は高められた温度、例えば50
〜120℃の範囲内の温度にて、全ての反応物を一
緒に加熱することで都合良く行われる。所望なら
ば、式で表わされるアミンと反応させる前に、
式で表わされる化合物及びホルムアルデヒドを
相当するＮ―メチロール化合物を製造するために
最初に反応させてもよい。 上記式及びＡで表わされるマンニツヒ塩基
化合物は、広範囲の機能液に高い溶解性を示し、
優れた金属不動化作用を有することを見出した。 したがつて、また本発明は、機能液及び金属不
動化剤として前記に定義した式またはＡの化
合物の不動化作用を示す量とから成る組成物を提
供するものである。 好ましくは該組成物は、組成物全量を基準とし
て式ＩまたはＡの化合物を0.001〜５重量％含
有している。 本発明の組成物に有効な機能液の例は、鉱油ま
たは合成カルボン酸エステルを基材とする潤滑
油、鉱油、リン酸エステル、水性ポリグリコー
ル／ポリグリコールエーテル混合物、グリコール
系、水中油型及び油中水型エマルジヨンを基礎と
する作動液及び鉱油又は水系を基礎とする金属工
作液並びに水性グリコール不凍液組成物である。 本発明において特に興味深いものは、水を基材
とする即ち水基材不凍液、作動液及び金属工作液
である。この種の水を基材とした機能液に用いる
には、式で表わされる化合物が複素環の窒素原
子に極性置換基を含むことは好ましい。 本発明による組成物が水を基材とした機能液の
場合、式で表わされる化合物中の置換基R1及
びR2は、好ましくは同種であり、そして少なく
とも１つ、できれば各々が次式：R3O〔（アルキ
レン）Ｏ〕ｘ（アルキレン）（式中、R3は前記で
表わした意味を表わすか好ましくはＨであり、ｘ
は０である。）で表わされる基である。 一方、本発明による組成物が油を基材とした機
能液の場合、式Ａで表わされる化合物がが好ま
しい金属不動化剤であるかまたは式（式中、
R1及びR2は各々アルケニルまたはシアノアルキ
ル基のような非極性基を表わす。）の化合物であ
る。この種の液体にとつてとりわけ好ましいもの
は式Ａ（式中、R4及びR5は各々炭素原子数１
〜12のアルキル基である。）の化合物である。 機能液の性質によつて、本発明の組成物は好ま
しくは１つまたはそれ以上の共一添加剤をも含
む。 非水性機能液における適当な共―添加剤の例と
しては、酸化防止剤、別の金属不動化剤、防サビ
剤、粘度指数向上剤、流動点降下剤、分散剤、洗
浄剤、極圧剤及び耐摩耗性添加剤がある。 ― 酸化防止剤の例としては次のようなものがあ
る： ａ アルキル化及び非アルキル化芳香族アミン
及びそれらの混合物、例えばジオクチルジフ
エニルアミン；モノ―第３―オクチルフエニ
ル―α及びβ―ナフチルアミン；ジオクチル
フエノチアジン；フエニル―α―ナフチルア
ミン：Ｎ，N′―ジ―第２―ブチルｐ―フエ
ニレンジアミン。 ｂ 立体障害されたフエノール、例えば２，６
―ジ―第３ブチル―ｐ―クレゾール；４，
4′―ビス（２，６―ジイソプロピルフエノー
ル）；２，４，６―トリイソプロピルフエノ
ール；２，2′―チオ―ビス―（４―メチル―
６―第３ブチルフエノール）。 ｃ アルキル、アリールまたはアルカリールホ
スフイツト、例えばトリフエニルホスフイツ
ト；トリノニルホスフイツト；ジフエニルデ
シルホスフイツト。 ｄ チオジプロピオン酸エステル、例えばジラ
ウリルチオジプロピオネート。 ｅ カルバミン酸及びジチオリン酸の塩、例え
ばジアミルジチオカルバミン酸アンチモン、
ジアミルジチオリン酸亜鉛。 ｆ 有機キレート剤の金属塩、錯体、例えばビ
ス（トリフルオロアセトナト）銅、フタロシ
アン化銅、EDTAのトリブチルエステル、モ
ノナトリウム塩。 ｇ 遊離基酸化防止剤及びその前駆物質、例え
ばニトロキシド等。 ｈ ２つあるいはそれ以上の上記各部のいずれ
かに記載の酸化防止剤を組合せたもの、例え
ばアルキル化アミン及び立体障害されたフエ
ノール。 ― 金属不動化剤としては次のようなものがあ
る： ａ 銅に対しては、例えばベンゾトリアゾー
ル、５，5′―メチレン―ビスベンゾトリアゾ
ール、４，５，６，７―テトラヒドロベンゼ
ントリアゾール、２，５―ジ―メルカプトチ
アジアゾール、サリチリデンプロピレンジア
ミン、サリチルアルアミノグアニジンの塩；
キニザリン等。 ｂ マグネシウムに対しては、例えばピリジル
アミン。 ｃ 鉛に対しては、例えばセバシン酸、沿食子
酸プロピル及びキナザリ。 ｄ 上記添加剤の２つまたはそれ以上を組み合
わせたもの。 ― サビ止め添加剤の例としては次のようなもの
がある： ａ 有機酸及びそれらのエステル、金属塩、無
水物、例えばサルコシン酸Ｎ―オレイル、モ
ノオレイン酸ソルビタン、ナフテン酸鉛、ド
デセニルコハク酸無水物、 ｂ 窒素含有物質、例えば次のようなもの； 第一、第二または第三脂肪族アミンまた
は環状脂肪族アミン及び有機及び無機酸の
アミン塩、例えばモルフオリン、ステアリ
ルアミン、カプリル酸トリエタノールアミ
ン、 複素環式化合物、例えばイミダゾリン、
オキサゾリン、 ｃ リン含有物質、列えば無機リン酸塩、ホス
ホン酸、リン酸アミン、 ｄ イオウ含有物質、例えばジノニルナフタリ
ン酸バリウムの硫酸塩、 ｅ 上記添加剤の２つまたはそれ以上を組み合
わせたもの。 ― 粘度指数向上剤／流動点降下剤の例としては
次のようなものがある： 例えば、ポリアクリル酸、ポリブテン、ポリ
ビニルピロリドン。 ― 分散剤／洗浄剤としては次のようなものがあ
る： 例えば、金属スルホン酸塩（Ca，Ba，Mg）
及びフエネート、ポリブテニルコハク酸イミ
ド。 ― 極圧剤／耐摩耗性剤の例としては次のような
ものがある： イオウ及び／またはリン及び／またはハロゲ
ンを含む物質、例えば硫化マツコウ鯨油、トリ
トリルリン酸エステル、塩素化パラフイン。 水性塩基製造物及び／またはグリコールーグリ
コールエーテルに用いられる適当な共―添加剤の
例としては、酸化防止剤、腐蝕及びサビ止め剤、
金属下動化剤、極圧／耐摩耕性添加剤、殺菌剤、
緩衝剤及び消泡剤を含む。 酸化防止剤の例としては次のようなものがあ
る：２，６―ジ―第３ブチル―ｐ―クレゾール及
びフエニル―α―ナフチルアミン。 腐蝕及びサビ止め剤の例としては次のようなも
のがある：硝酸ナトリウム、安息香酸ナトリウ
ム、モルフオリン、アミン石けん、例えばセバシ
ン酸トリエタノールアミン、リン酸トリエタノー
ルアミン；リン酸水素二ナトリウム、セバシン酸
二ナトリウム、アリールスルホンアミド―カルボ
ン酸エステル。 金属不動化剤の例としては次のようなものがあ
る：ベンゾトリアゾール及びメルカプトベンゾチ
アゾールナトリウム。 極圧剤／耐摩耗性添加剤の例としては次のよう
なものがある：塩素化パラフイン、硫化マツコウ
鯨油、硫化オレフイン、部分的エトキシル化エス
テル及びポリグリコール。 緩衝剤の例としては次のようなものがある：ホ
ウ砂及びトリエタノールアミン。 殺菌剤の例としては次のようなものがある：
２，４，５―トリクロルフエノール；２，2′―ジ
ヒドロキシ―５，5′―ジ―クロルジフエニルメタ
ンのナトリウム塩；及びオルトフエニルフエノー
ルのナトリウム塩。 消泡剤の例としてはケイ素である。 実施例 １〜14 全製品は第二アミンからのマンニツヒ塩基に関
しての以下に記載するような同様の一般的方法に
よつて得られた。第一アミンから得られるマンニ
ツヒ塩基はアミンの半分のモル量で用いられる。 ベンゾトリアゾール23.82部及びジエタノール
アミン21.03部をエタノール75部及び36％水溶液
として加えられたホルムアルデヒド6.0部と一緒
に混合した。混合物を沸点まで加熱し、そして還
流状態を８時間続ける（より多いモル重量のアミ
ンでは満足すべき収量を得るために16時間以上の
反応時間が必要であつた。）。冷却後、容媒を水流
ポンプによる減圧下で除去し、そして残渣を同じ
く水流ポンプによる減圧下にてエタノール50部ず
つ３回にてアゼオトロープした。このようにする
と１―ジエタノールアミノメチルベンゾトリアゾ
ールが80％の収率で得られた。 固体生成物が得られた場合には、再結晶を酢酸
エチルから行つた。 生成物は陽子核磁気共鳴分光器により、生成物
中には２―Ｎ―置換物が生じており、そして種々
の範囲（20％まで）で存在することが明白ではあ
るけれど、本質的には１―Ｎ―置換されている。 上記と同様な手順を行うと、式またはＡで
表わされる様々な他の化合物が製造された。これ
らの他の実施例の詳細を以下に示す表１，２及び
３において述べる。

片を、イオウ元素50ppm及び実施例５の製造品
0.05重量％有する芳香族スピンドル油50ml中に全
体を浸し、そして銅ストリツプ腐蝕テスト（米国
標準規格試験法（ASTM）Ｄ―130）を３時間
100℃にて適用した。 テストの最終段皆において、該ストリツプをオ
イルから取り出し、洗浄及び乾燥し、そして腐蝕
に対して視覚的に検査した。 次の表４において、ASTMの等級がこの実験
及び実施例6.7.8.9.10.11及び12の製品を用いて行
つた実験に対して得られた。ASTMの４級はひ
どい曇りを示し、一方ASTMの１級はわずかな
曇りのみを示す。

けた重量の損失に基づいて評価する。 用いた器具を図に示しそして次のようなものか
ら成る：― 1000ml「処理容器」 多重受け口を有するフランジ付きフタ13該フラ
ンジ付きフタに接続する還流冷却器16 該フランジ付きフタの１つの受け口に接続し頭
部が焼結されたNo.２の多孔性のガス流通チユーブ １分間に100±15mlの気曝速度をコントロール
するに適する流量計 フランジ付きフタに接続し―５〜105℃の範囲
に適合する温度計14 空気用シリンダー 82゜±２℃の温度を保つことが可能な水浴 ６本の処理容器が収納可能な水浴に接続した金
属板 金属の試験片（中央に６mmの穴をあけた50mm×
25mmの板）は以下のとおりである：― １ 鋼鉄 U.S. SAE1020冷間圧延された鋼材 ２ 銅 銅のシート、板またはロールされた棒に
おけるU.S.標準規格ETPまたはSTP型、
ASTM B152，SAE71冷間圧延された鋼材 ３ 黄銅 黄銅の板、シート、ストリツプ及びロ
ールされた棒、ASTM B36，SAE70Cに対する
U.S.標準規No.８の合金 ４ ハンダ U.S. ASTM B32の等級30Aまたは
30Bの合金 ５ 鋳造アルミニウム U.S. ASTM B179，
SAE329のSC64Cの合金 ６ 鋳鉄 U.S. ASTM159 SAE120のNo.120合金 金属の全試験片を軽石及び湿つた剛毛ブラシで
スクラツプし、冷水それからアセトンで洗い乾燥
しそして重量を秤る。 試験片を、該試験片の中央の穴を通過し容易に
滑るに十分なほどの小さな直径を有し、薄い膜で
被覆された絶縁管を有する黄銅製の小ねじ12に組
込む。それらを長さ５mmで外径が11mm、内径が６
mmの円筒状のスペーサー8.9.10で互いに分離し
た。前記組込み部品の両端には、1.5mmの厚さの
黄銅のシートからカツトした50mm×25mmの、そし
て黄銅の部品の一端へ中央の直径が６mmの穴を有
し、試験片の長軸と同様の方向に該黄銅の部品の
長軸を定めた黄銅の「脚」７を設けた（図参
照）。 試験片及び脚を以下の順序で組立てた（図参
照）―黄銅の「脚」７，銅６，ハンダ５，黄銅
４，鋼３，鋳鉄２，鋳造アルミニウム１，黄銅
「脚」７。両黄銅の「脚」７及び隣接した試験片
の間及び黄銅と鋼板の試験片の間にあるスペーサ
ー８は絶縁体であり、黄銅、ハンダ及び銅の試験
片の間のスペーサー10は黄銅であり、そして鋼、
アルミニウム及び鉄の試験片の間のスペーサー９
は鋼とした。 「脚」のスペーサー及び試験片の組立て装置
を、各々の部分における３つの部品の相互の電気
的接触が良好となるように黄銅製のナツト11で一
緒にしつかり締めた。 不凍液配合物を以下のように調合した：― モノエチレングリコール 92.8重量％ トリエタノールアミン 2.9重量％ リン酸（比重1.75） 1.1重量％ 実施例１における化合物 0.2重量％ ホウ砂 3.0重量％ 上記不凍液組成物の１重量部をそれから水２で
希釈した。 希釈された不凍液15（750ml）を図に示す容器
へ入れた。該容器を82±２℃の湯浴に浸し、気曝
速度を100±15ml／１分に調節した。 上記実験を336時間（２週間）継続して行なつ
た。実験の最終段階にて試験片を組立てたものを
取り除きそして分解した。個々の金属試験片を緩
やかに付着している腐蝕物を除去するためにブラ
ツシングしながら流水で洗つた。より頑強にくつ
ついて離れない生成物を次のような方法で除去し
た：― 鉄及び鋼 試験片を１％―ヘキサミンを含む50％―HCl溶
液中に１分間浸した。 鉄及び黄銅 試験片をHClの30％溶液中に30秒間浸した。 アルミニウム 試験片を２％クロム酸及び５％H3PO4を含み、
80℃に保たれている溶液中で５分間浸した。 ハンダ 試験片を沸とうしている１％酢酸溶液中に５分
間浸した。 全試験片の最終的な洗浄を湿つたブラシでスク
ラツビングすることで行なつた。完全な洗浄の後
に試験片をアセトン中ですすぎ、乾燥しそして重
量を測定した。 試験片は、腐蝕による損失が以下に挙げる損失
より低い場合に上記実験をパスしたと言い得る：
― 鋼 2.0mg／sg.in 鋳鉄 2.0mg／sg.in ハンダ 4.0mg／sg.in 銅 2.0mg／sg.in 黄銅 2.0mg／sg.in 鋳造アルミニウム 7.0mg／sg.in 得られた結果と、比較を目的とする有効成分と
してベンゾトリアゾール又は５―メチルベンゾト
リアゾールを各々用いて行う実験に関するデータ
を含む５表に記載する。
【表】 実施例 24 ベンゾトリアゾール反応体を化学量論理的等量
（266.2部）のトルトリアゾールに置き換えること
を除いて、実施例１で記載された手順を繰り返し
た。 この方法により、沸点170℃／0.93ミリバール
でかつ次の基礎分析値を有する１―ジエタノール
アミノメチル トルトリアゾールが粘稠シロツプ
として得られた。 理論値：C57.6；H7.2；N22.40％ 実測値：C56.5；H7.2；N21.70％

図は、実施例23による本発明の溶液に対する金
属の耐腐蝕性を試験するための装置を示したもの
である。 図中、１…鋳造アルミニウム、２…鋳鉄、３…
鋼、４…黄銅、５…ハンダ、６…銅、７…黄銅の
脚、８…絶縁体リング、９…鋼リング、１０…黄
銅リング、１１…黄銅ナツト、１２…黄銅の機械
軸、１３…フタ、１４…温度計、１５…溶液、１
６…冷却器、を表わす。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １ 次式： 式中、 Ａは、ベンゼン基を表わし、非置換でもよくま
    たは炭素原子数１〜４の１個のアルキル基で置換
    されていてもよく、 R1及びR2は同種でも異種でもよく、そして
    各々は 次式：R3O（アルキレン）（式中、R3は水素原
    子または炭素原子数１〜４のアルキル基を表わ
    し、“アルキレン”は炭素原子数２または３の直
    鎖または枝分れ鎖アルキレン基を表わす。）で表
    わされる基、 炭素原子数３〜20のアルケニア基、を表わす
    か、もしくは R1は前記で表わした意味を有し、そしてR2は次
    式： （式中、Ａは前述で表わす意味を表わす。）で
    表わされる基を表わす。〕 で表わされることを特徴とするベンゾトリアゾー
    ル誘導体化合物。 ２ Ｎ原子の置換基が極性機能を有することを特
    徴とする特許請求の範囲第１記記載の化合物。 ３ R1及びR2の少なくとも１つが次式： R3O（アルキレン） （式中、 R3は水素原子または炭素原子数１〜４のアル
    キル基を表わし、 “アルキレン”は炭素原子数２または３の直鎖
    または枝分れ鎖アルキレン基を表わす。 で表わされる基であることを特徴とする特許請求
    の範囲第２項記載の化合物。 ４ 式中、R3がＨであることを特徴とする特許
    請求の範囲第３項記載の化合物。 ５ 式中、 Ａが非置換ベンゼン基またはメチル基で置換さ
    れたベンゼン基であり、そして R1及びR2が同種又は異種でもよく、そして
    各々がR3Oアルキレン基（基中、R3は水素原子ま
    たは炭素原子数１〜４のアルキル基である。）で
    ある ことを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第１項乃至第４
    項のいずれか１項に記載の化合物。 ６ 次式： （式中、 Ａは、ベンゼン基を表わし、非置換でもよくま
    たは炭素原子数１〜４の１個のアルキル基で置換
    されていてもよい。） で表わされる化合物を、ホルムアルデヒド及び次
    式： 〔式中、 R1及びR2は同種でも異種でもよく、そして
    各々は 次式：R3O（アルキレン）（式中、R3は水素原
    子または炭素原子数１〜４のアルキル基を表わ
    し、“アルキレン”は炭素原子数２または３の直
    鎖または枝分れ鎖アルキレン基を表わす。）で表
    わされる基、 炭素原子数３〜20のアルケニル基を表わすか、
    もしくは、 R1は前記で表わした意味を有し、そしてR2は次
    式： （式中、Ａは前述で表わす意味を表わす。）で
    表わされる基を表わす。〕 で表わされるアミンと反応させることから成るこ
    とを特徴とする、次式： 〔式中、Ａ，R1，及びR2は上記の意味を有す
    る。〕で表わされる化合物の製造方法。 ７ 上記式で表わされる化合物がベンゾトリア
    ゾールであることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第
    ６項記載の方法。
