Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 イ、発明の目的 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は内燃機関の消音器に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
内燃機関の消音器に於ては排気吐出音もさることながら
、そこから放射される音即ち放射音・透過音も大きな要
因となっている。その放射音透過音を小さくする対策と
して、従来外筒を二〜三重の構造としたり、あるいはそ
の多重量内に遮音材例えばアスベストやグラスファイバ
のマットを介在させているのが常である。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
ところが良く分析しイみると、自動車等に搭載した状態
にあっては、その室内に近い方、即ち消音器の上部面、
あるいは排気導入管拳結金管または排出管が近接してい
る外筒壁面に選択的に対策を施す事によって放射音・透
過音対応が出来るものである。
この発明は上記の選択的対策を極めて簡単に施工するこ
とを目的とする。
口、発明の構成 〔問題点を解決するための手段〕 薄板を多重に巻層して筒体を成形し、その筒体周面の一
部を他の面より一重多く巻き付けて固着する。
その−重多く巻層された範囲面を実車搭載状Ｂで上部に
位置させる またはその範囲面に接近して排気導入管・結合管・排出
管などを配置する。
〔作用〕
薄板を多重に＠層した消音器筒体において、放射音・透
過音の対策を必要とする範囲面の巻層を−４多くするこ
とによって消音効果が得られる。
〔実施例〕
薄鋼板１を芯金に必要回数巻層し、その際巻始め側１ａ
と巻終り側１ｂとを必要円弧範囲αだけ抱き合せること
によって、その範囲αを他の範囲より一重多くすること
ができる。
第１図は横断面円形、第２図は長円形の円筒で、いずれ
も二重巻きとし、範囲αの筒体周面ＩＣを三重にした実
施例である。そして少なくとも巻終り側１ｂを点溶接Ｗ
等で固着する。
上記の筒体を外筒とし、端板３・３を取付け、内空には
図に省略した必要な１膨張室、共鳴室等の消音機構を組
付ける。そして排気導入管４・結合管・排出管等を、前
記の三重になっている範囲αの筒体周面１ｃに近接して
設ける。
また自動車７等に搭載する場合は、上記範囲αの三重筒
体周面側を自動車に面してすなわち上にして取付けるよ
うに消音器を構成する。
ハ、発明の効果 １、薄板を巻層した外筒体を有する消音器において、必
要とする範囲の周面を他の面より一重多く巻き付けるだ
けで、その必要面からの放射音・透過音を少なくするこ
とができる。
２、従来の多重巻層構成のものに比べ材料を少なくして
軽量化と加工時間の短縮に寄与する。
３、空気層を有する二重筒体、その空％Ｈに吸音材を詰
めた筒体に比べて、量産性に優れ安価に構成される。
４、自動車等に搭載する際には一重だけ多く巻いた面Ｉ
Ｃが車体７側の上になるように取付けることが望ましい
。
そうすると巻始め側１ａ・巻終り側１ｂの端末は下向き
にある。従って排気ガス凝縮水、洗車時に排気排出管６
から入った水が、巻始め側１ａの端末の隙間から毛細管
現象で巻層間に浸入することがない０巻終り側１ｂにお
いてもその端末の隙間が下向きであるから、洗車水・雨
水等の浸入は少ない。
従って消音器が急減に加熱されたとき、巻層間に浸入し
た水が加熱されて内側面を変形させるおそれがない。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）内燃機関の消音器の外筒に於て、薄板を多重に巻
    層して筒体を成形し、その筒体周面の一部を他の面より
    一重多く巻き付けて固着したことを特徴とする消音器。
