Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はビデオテープ、メモリーテープ、オーディオテ
ープ等の磁気記録用長尺帯の頭部、尾部、必要に応じて
中間部に位置する、リーダーまたはトレーラーテープの
新規な礎成に関するものである。
従来、磁気テープ部で生ずるドロップアウトは磁気テー
プ自体に基因すると考えられていたが、本発明者等の検
討結果によれば、このドロップアウトはリーダーテープ
に基因し、リーダーの表面電気抵抗または帯電圧が低い
場合はドロップアウトが少なくなることが判明した。
更に回転ビデオヘッドの目詰りも磁気テープ以外にリー
ダーまたはトレーラーテープに基因することが判明した
。テープ状物質の帯電防止処理としては{1’表面に帯
電防止剤を塗布する、■層全体の電気抵抗を下げること
が考えられ、従釆のりーダーまたはトレーラー用テープ
としては次の様なものが知られている。‘1’金属蒸着
膜をストライプ状に設けたもの(実公昭46−1434
9)、‘2}ベースの片面または両面をマット化したも
の(実公昭49一42726)、‘3}粒子サイズ4r
以下の顔料を粘続剤100部に対して50〜80碇部添
加した塗布層を設けたもの(特関昭49−40504同
49−67603)等である。上記3者のうち{3}の
ものが性能的に最もすぐれているが、依然として次のよ
うな欠点を有している。{1}表面電気抵抗または静電
気帯電圧を下げることが出来ない。■ヘッド目詰りが生
ずる。{3’高温高温下でブロッキングが生ずる。リー
ダーまたはトレーラーテープにおける上記の欠点を解消
すべく本発明者等は研究を重ねた結果、プラスチック支
持体の片面に少なくとも01第1層としての導電性層と
‘2)第2層としての白色顔料と粘給剤を主成分とする
層との積層塗膜を設けた構造とすれば、その目的は達せ
られることを見出して本発明を完成したものである。
従来のリーダーと本発明IJ−ダーの断面を第1図およ
び第2図に示した。
第1図の従来のものはベース1と塗布層2とからなる。
第2図は本発明のものであり、aはベース1、第1層(
導電層)2および第2層(保護層)3とからなり、bは
ベースー、下塗層4、導電層2および保護層3とからな
る。本発明で用いられる支持体は磁気テープの支持体と
同一または異なったものでよく、ポリエチレンテレフタ
レート、ポリエチレンナフタレート等ポリエステル類、
ポリプロピレン等のポリオレフイン類、セルローストリ
アセテート、セルロースダイアセテート等のセルロース
議導体、ポリ塩化ビニル等のビニル樹脂類、ポリカーボ
ネート等のプラスチック等から選ばれ、その厚さは磁気
テープの支持体と同じ程度から20倍程度まで、4〜2
00仏が有効である。
本発明では下塗層は特に必要としないが、磁気テープ一
般に使われているものを設けることが好ましい。

ビ、線状飽和ポリエステル樹脂、ポリウレタン等の樹脂
の単独、又はポリカーボネート等の硬いバインダーとの
混合物を用い、元素を有機溶媒で溶解後、1仏前後の乾
燥厚みになるように塗布する。又は全く別法として、ベ
ース表面を酸またはアルカリ処理、サンドブラストによ
る処理、コロナ放電、紫外線照射処理などを行ない、ベ
ース表面を活性化させて磁性層をその上に密着し易くす
る下塗り処理もある。本発明で第1層として設ける導電
層は1×1び。
Q/sq以下(単独でポリエチレンテレフタレ−トに塗
布した場合)の導電性樹脂を塗布することが好ましい。
導電性樹脂としてはポリカチオン系樹脂や第4級アンモ
ニウム塩樹脂等が挙げられる。この導電性樹脂に代えて
、カチオン系界面活性剤とプラスチック樹脂との混合物
も使用できるが、この場合、前者に比べて表面電気抵抗
の経時変化が起き易い。この第1層の厚さは0.1〜5
r、好ましくは0.2〜2ムである。本発明の第2層で
使用する白色顔料としては、炭酸カルシウム、タルク粉
、ケイ酸マグネシワム、酸化亜鉛等が挙げられ、その粒
子サイズは0.02〜10ぷ、好ましくは0.05〜3
仏であり、1」−ダーテープの光透過率を高めるために
白色であることが必要で、これによってリーダー、トレ
ーラーの位置を検出することが出来る。
また粘結剤としては塩化ビニル酢酸ビニル共重合体、塩
化ビニル酢酸ビニリデン共重合体、ポリアクリル酸ェス
テル、アクリル酸ヱステルアクリロニトリル共重合体、
セルロース系樹脂、ポリウレタン樹脂等の熱可塑性樹脂
、フェノール樹脂、ェポキシ樹脂等の熱硬化性樹脂等が
用いられる。上記白色顔料/樹脂比は6/I〜0.5/
1、好ましくはくは4′1〜1′1である。
第2層全体の厚さは1〜10仏、好ましくは1〜6仏で
ある。本発明のリーダーまたはトレーラーテープを用い
ることにより次のような効果が蓑せられる。
1 回転ビデオヘッドの目詰りがない。
2 高温高温下のブロッキングがない。
3 表面電気抵抗、帯電圧が低くなる。
4 上記1,3により繰返し使用時のドロップアウト増
加が少ない。
5 光透過率法によってリーダー、トレーラーの検出が
可能な光透過率を有している。
実施例 1 ′厚さ36〆のポリエチレンテレフタレート上に無定形
ポリエステル樹脂を乾燥後の塗布厚0.5仏になるよう
塗布、乾燥後、下記第1層を塗布、乾燥させ、次いで下
記第2層を塗布、乾燥させさ後、通常の磁気テープの製
造工程と同様にカレンダー処理を行ない。
3′4インチ中に裁断してソニー製3/4インチ中Uマ
チツクカセツトにリーダー、トレーラーとして絹込後、
第1層、第2層を各種厚さにしたサンプル1〜7につい
て各種の評価を行なった。
第1層の組成 導電性樹脂(ポリビニルベンジルトリ メチルアンモニウムクロライド) 50g 溶剤(メタノール、メチルエチルケト ン 2′1) 1.5kg
第2層の組成塩ビ酢ビ共重合体
47g白色顔料(平均粒子サイズ0.1山の炭酸カルシ
ウム) 20雌硬化剤(トリィソシ
ァネート) 2総添加剤(レシチン、シリコーン
オイル)7g比較例 1実施例1と同様に厚さ36rの
ポリエチレンテレフタレートベース上に下塗層を設けた
後、実施例1の第1層と第2層をブレンドした単層を塗
布、乾燥しカレンダー処理を行なった。
組成 塩ビ獣ビー共重合体 3鶴白色顔料(
平均粒子サイズ0.1山の炭酸カルシウム)
10雌導電性アクリル樹脂 2強硬
化剤(トリィソシアネート) 17g添加剤(レシ
チン、シリコーンオィル)7g このようにして得られたサンプル8について実施例1と
同様の評価を行なった。
第1表 各評価法は次のようにして行なった。
1 ドロップアウト増加率 VTR:ソニー製 VO山1700A テープ:Uマチツク用3/4インチカセットテーフ。
Uマチック用3/4カセットに付属しているリーダー、
トレーラーの代りに各種実施例のリーダー、トレーラー
テープを接合し、第1回目の鏡画再生時のドロップアウ
ト数(ケ/分)をD,(1/3日以上の大きさをカウン
ト)とし、50回目の鏡画再生時のドロップアウト数(
ケ/分)をD5。
として次式より算出した。ドロップアウ柳。
率=登2 表面電気抵抗 長さ3/4インチ×中3/4インチの資料をTAKED
A RIKEN−TR−8651 ELECTROM旧
TERを用いて測定した。
3 ブロッキング 中3/4インチのりーダーテープを直径36肌のガラス
管に荷重4k9の強さで巻きつけた後、45℃、80%
RH、2独特間放置後にリーダー、7ープ間の層間粘着
を目視で調べた。
4 帯電圧 リーダーの表面をナイロン布で15回摩擦後の帯電圧を
川口電気工業SSVロー40 帯電圧測定器にて計測し
た。
5 光透過率 光源:タングステンランプ 受光部:フオトトランジスター リーダー、トレーラーなしの場合の光量Loに対し、リ
ーダー、トレーラー挿入時の光量を凶とし次式より求め
た。
光透過率宅×100(%) 第1表のサンプル1〜7から判るように第1層が0.3
ム以上でドロップアウト増加率、目詰り、表面電気抵抗
、帯電圧等、全特性が優れており、これらのデータから
第1層の厚さ0.1仏以上で本発明の効果があると考え
られる。
またサンプル8のように第1層、第2層成分をブレンド
して単層として塗布したものは、本発明のものに比して
目詰り、ドロップアウト増加率、表面電気抵抗、ブロッ
キング等いずれも劣っていた。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 プラスチツク支持体の片面に少なくとも第1層とし
    てのポリカチオン系樹脂又は第4級アンモニウム塩樹脂
    からなる導電性樹脂を含み厚さが0.1〜5μの導電層
    および第2層としての白色顔料、および粘結剤を主成分
    とする層とからなる厚さが1〜10μの積層塗膜を設け
    たことを特徴とする、磁気テープ用リーダーまたはトレ
    ーラーテープ。
