Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野〕 本発明はプラスチック製チューブのための電気溶接され
るユニオン継手に関する。より詳細には、本発明は斯か
る溶接ユニオン継手においてチューブ径に関連して最適
の溶接時間が1qられる方法ど装置に関する。
本明細書においては「ユニオン継手]なる語は、チュー
ブ端を延長させる接続具やチューブに別のチューブを横
方向に接続するための接続具等、所定数のチューブ素子
を連結するための接続具として働くスリーブを意味する
説明の便宜上、以下では上記した特定のスリーブの場合
について言及するが、それらは本発明を説明するための
一例に過ぎない。
[従来の技術] 2つのプラスチック製チューブを結合する場合、同材料
のスリーブを用いて2つのチューブをこれに挿入する。
即ち、スリーブがユニオン継手として働き、スリーブの
内面にはコイルが埋め込まれていてコイル端は電流によ
り励起される。電源が入れられると、コイルを流れる電
流がチューブとチューブが挿入されているスリーブの内
面の材料に融解を起こす。これらの2つの域には非常に
大きな熱膨張が生じるので、融解表面は密に接触し、冷
却後は堅固なブロックをなす。
[発明が解決しようとする問題点] しかしながら、この簡単な方法は、制御上難点がある。
というのは、チューブとユニオン継手との間の堅固なブ
ロックの形成は漸進的な現象なので、この現象は温度と
量という2つの物理的指針によって調べることはできて
も外部から見ることができないからである。
実際、電流溶接源が接続されると、コイルに電流が流れ
次のような一連の結果をもたらす。
コイルがスリーブに埋め込まれているため電流によって
生じた熱が周辺域における材料の加熱を引き起こして次
第に融解して行き表面へと熱膨張が達し、チューブ外部
に圧力が加わり、この圧力が増加する。
次いで、チューブ材が融解してチューブに対しスリーブ
が押圧した状態での溶接となる。
この時点で電流が切られなければ、融解材料の熱膨張に
より溶接域での圧力増加が生じる。
何故なら、コイル各側の側方域が冷たいままであるから
であり、従って材料ロスが防がれ溶接圧が確立する。
従って、材料の湿度又は量をチェックできれば、これら
指針のいずれかが所定値に達した時点で電流の遮断を行
なうことができ、溶接を完了できる。最適電流時間はス
リーブ径の関数であり、張力は一定とみなされる。
従ってこれらユニオンの溶接時間を確立するための自動
制御方法及び装置が必要で、本発明はこれらを提供する
[問題点を解決するだめの手段] 本発明によれば、ユニオン継手の材料の特性変化が最適
溶接に対応する時点で電流が自動的に遮断される。これ
を行なうため、本発明の第1の仕方によれば、融解材料
自体が、熱゛膨張時に電流を遮断する電気機械的又は電
子的構成要素と接触する。
本発明の第2の仕方によれば、変数として選択されるの
は温度であり、これが軟化点又”は融解点に対応する値
に達づると、熱センサからの信号で電源を切るか又はコ
イル感熱域の融解による遮断を行なうことにより、電流
を遮断する。
本発明の第3の仕方によれば、材料の密度又は硬度変化
を感知する素子が用いられ、材料軟化時に電気機械的又
は電子的構成要素が作用される。
本発明の範囲内で、その他種々の、材料の軟化に関する
特性変化を検出・利用して溶接電流遮断システムに伝え
るやり方が可能である。
本発明は電気溶接されるスリーブの溶接時間制御に関し
、融解するプラスチック材料の特性変化を利用してこれ
ら特性の1つが最適点に到達した時点で電気機械的又は
電子的構成要素に動きかけて電流を止めるものである。
本発明の第1の仕方を達成する方法においては、融解材
料がスリーブ壁の半径方向凹所に流入することが用いら
れる。溶接時には、スリーブ内域からの融解材料がこの
凹所に導かれてスリーブ外面に達する。この公知の現象
を利用して凹所中に「コルク」を配することにより視覚
的に操作制御する試みがされているが、しかしこのよう
なシステムは真の制御というにはあまりにも未発達なも
のである。本発明によれば、この凹所にマイクロ接点を
配し、融解材料が接触した時に接点が作用するよう構成
したことによって、真の制御としたものである。
本発明は、スリーブ壁内にコイルに隣接して半径方向凹
所を形成し、融解材料がこの凹所に流入してスリーブの
外面に達し、凹所に隣接して配した電気機械的又は電子
要素に接触して接触時点で電流が切れるよう働く電気溶
接されるスリーブの溶接時間制御装置にも関する。
勿論、正確に溶接最適時点で融解材料が流入して制御素
子に接触して電流を止めるよう凹所径はスリーブの寸法
に関連させて選ばなければならない。
[実 施 例コ 以下、添付図面を参照して本発明の第1の仕方を更に説
明する。
第1図は本発明が2つの共軸チューブをスリーブで接続
するのに用いられた例を示すもので、スリーブ1はポリ
エチレン等の熱可塑性材料から成り、その内径はチュー
ブ2の外径よりもやや大きい。2つのチューブ2をほぼ
対称的にスリーブ1内に挿入し、デユープ2端をスリー
ブ1内にコイル3,3′を埋め込んだ領域の内側で対向
させる。コイル3.3′は端子6,6′に接続し、端子
6.6′は第4図に示す如く電源につながっている。
路は、第4図に示す如く、オペレータによって一旦閉じ
られた後、溶接完了時点で自動的に切られる。これはス
リーブ1壁のコイル3,3′埋設個所付近で端子6,6
′に隣接して配された凹所5゜5′の口に位置した2つ
のマイクロ接点4,4′により指令される制御回路によ
って行われる。
前記した融解膨張の進行中に、スリーブ1の融解した材
料が膨張圧の作用により各凹所5,5′の底部に入り込
み、この膨張につれて凹所5,5′内にて高さを増して
各マイクロ接点4,4′に圧力を加え、各マイクロ接点
4,4′がコイルへの作動電流を切って溶接作業を止め
る。
第2図及び第3図は本発明が主導管に派生チューブ(t
ube in derivation)が接続されルノ
に用いられる例を示すものである。即ち、第1図の例に
おける2つの共軸チューブのスリーブの替わりに、派生
チューブ11の全部又は一部を覆うサドル10で溶接が
行なわれる。
サドル10はチューブ12を有しており、この内□れた
突きぎりによりチューブ12に対向するチューブ11壁
に孔13があけられる。
サドル10はサドル10の湾曲形に合わせて湾曲させた
コイル14を有しており、端子15.15’に接続され
た回路により電力供給される。マイクロ接点16.16
’は、第1図の凹所5,5′に配したマイクロ接点4,
4′と同様に凹所17,17’に配される。
方法の順序も第1図の場合と同様で、サドル材料とチュ
ーブ材料が所望の融解を起こすとすぐに、融解した材料
が凹所17,17’に入ってマイクロ接点16 、16
’を作動させて、コイル14へ加えられる電流を切り、
溶接を終了させる。
勿論、上記の2つの実施例の他、特に融解材料の温度を
利用した種々の変更例が可能である。
第4図は前記した如き電気設備の概略図である。低電圧
電源20から導線21.22が溶接コイルの端子6.6
’ (15,15’ )に結線される。導線22ではリ
レー23を備えた制御システムが結線され、開始は手動
で制御し遮断はマイクロ接点4.4′(16,16’)
によって行なう。手動制御は押し釦24による。スリー
ブ1の(又はサドル10の)凹所5,5’ (17,1
7’ )内の融解材料圧に反応するセンサが遮断を制御
する。
本発明の要旨の範囲内の変更例としては、例えば、これ
らのセンサを温度感知型にし温度変化のみを利用して制
御回路を指令してもよいし、融解材料の量にのみ頼って
指令してもよいし、又、各スリーブ(サドル)に2つの
凹所があるのだから一方を温度感知型、他方を量感矩型
としてもよい。
第1図及び第2図において、スリーブ1及びサドル10
の域rsJは溶接域を、域「f」は冷域を表わし、この
ため融解した材料が側方に逃げて注力形成を妨げるのが
防がれる。
[発明の効果] 以上から明らかなように本発明によれば、電気溶接され
るユニオン継手の溶接時間制御が自動化できるという優
れた効果を発揮する。

第1図は本発明をスリーブにより2つの共軸なチューブ
を接続するのに用いた例を示す図、第2図は本発明を主
導管に分岐チューブを接続するのに用いた例を示す図、

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1) 溶接する材料の特性変化を把握し、溶接完了時に
    該特性変化をセンサにより伝達される情報として用いて
    溶接電流の遮断を指令することを特徴とする電気溶接さ
    れるユニオン継手の溶接時間制御方法。 2)検出される特性変化が回度化であり、ユニオン継手
    の壁に形成された凹所内で膨張した材料が凹所の口に配
    したマイクロ端子に作用する、特許請求の範囲第1)項
    に記載の電気溶接されるユニオン継手の溶接時間制御方
    法。 3)検出される特性変化が温度変化であり、軟化域の熱
    がユニオン継手壁に形成された凹所の内側に配した熱セ
    ンサによって検出される、特許請求の範囲第1)項に記
    載の電気溶接されるユニオン継手の溶接時間制御方法。 4)検出される特性変化が材料の密度又は硬度変化であ
    り、ある地点での材料の軟化度合が情報として用いられ
    る、特許請求の範囲第1)項に記載の電気溶接されるユ
    ニオン継手の溶接時間制御方法。 5)検出される特性変化が温度変化であり、軟化域の熱
    が利用されてユニオン継手の電気コイルの再融解部分の
    溶化を引起こす、特許請求の範囲第1)項に記載の電気
    溶接されるユニオン継手の溶接時間制御方法。 6) ユニオン継手のコイル付近の壁に凹所を設け、前
    記凹所内又は凹所の口付近に軟化域での材料の特性変化
    を把握するセンサを配し、溶接達成に対応する材料の特
    性変化が生じたとき前記センサからの情報を溶接装置に
    送って装置の電流を遮断するよう構成したことを特徴と
    する、電気溶接されるユニオン継手の溶接時間制御装置
    。 7) センサが凹所の口に配され融解材料によって作用
    されるマイクロ端子であり、利用される特性変化が材料
    の量変化である、特許請求の範囲第6)項に記載の電気
    溶接されるユニオン継手の溶接時間制御装置。 8) センサが凹所の内部に配された熱センサであり、
    利用される特性変化が材料の温度変化である、特許請求
    の範囲第6)項に記載の電気溶接されるユニオン継手の
    溶接時間制御装置。 9) センサが材料の軟化度合を感知する素子であり、
    利用される特性変化が材料の密度又は硬度変化である、
    特許請求の範囲第6)項に記載の電気溶接されるユニオ
    ン継手の溶接時間制御装置。 10)センサがユニオン継手の電気コイルであり、溶接
    域内に配した該コイルの一部がユニオン継手の融解穴以
    下の融解点を有する金属から成る、特許請求の範囲第6
    )項に記載の電気溶接されるユニオン継手の溶接時間制
    御装置。 11)リレーを取付けた回路によってコイルに電流が供
    給され、前記リレーが手動で発動され、溶接の終了を表
    わす特性変化を検出するセンサによりマイクロ端子が指
    令されて前記リレーが遮断される、特許請求の範囲第6
    )項に記載の電気溶接されるユニオン継手の溶接時間制
    御装置。
