Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] 本発明は、プラスチック管とプラスチック管継手とを
電気融着して接続する方法に関し、特に電気融着式プラ
スチック管接続方法における接続工程の表示に関する。
[従来の技術] 従来の電気融着式プラスチック管継手の接続方法を、
例えば一般的によく用いられるソケット型管継手に用い
た場合について第4図をもとに説明する。
第4図はソケット型管継手であるソケット1にプラス
チック管2Aと同じく2Bとを電気融着して接続しようとす
る状態を示している。
ソケット1は、ほぼ円筒状のプラスチック管継手本体
11と、このプラスチック管継手本体11の内周面に埋込ん
だ電熱線12と、この電熱線12の両端各々に接続し下部を
プラスチック管継手本体11両端の外周面に埋込み、上部
をこの外周面より突出させた2本のコネクターピン13と
からなっている。このソケット1の両端の2本のコネク
ターピン13各々に制御装置6のコネクター3を差込み、
このコネクター3は配線分岐器4を経由して制御装置本
体5に配線接続している。
ここで、制御装置本体5を通じて電流をソケット1の
電熱線12に通じて、プラスチック管2Aとプラスチック管
2Bとをソケット1を介して電気融着して接続する。
従来この接続方法における制御方法および制御工程の
表示は次のような方法および表示であった。
制御方法については、ソケット1にプラスチック管2A
と同じく2Bとを嵌合してセットし、ソケット1の2本の
コネクターピン13各々に制御装置6のコネクター3を差
込み、プラスチック管2Aと同じく2Bとの接続準備が完了
である。
この後、制御装置本体5に電源を入力しこの中に設置
した温度計にて気温を測定し、この温度に適した電流通
過時間をタイマーにてセットする。このタイマーの時間
セットは自動あるいは手動にて行う。
次に、制御装置本体5の通電開始ボタンを押して電流
を通じ、タイマーで自動的にソケット1への通電を停止
する。
最後に、ソケット1のコネクターピン13よりコネクタ
ー3を抜いてプラスチック管2Aおよびプラスチック管2B
とソケット1との電気融着式の接続が終了する。
この接続制御方法における工程の表示については、制
御装置本体5に電源を入力したときの電源表示ランプ点
灯、および制御装置本体5の通電開始ボタンを押してソ
ケット1に電流を通じてからタイマーで通電を停止、終
了するまでの間の通電表示ランプ点灯があった。
[発明が解決しようとする問題点] 以上説明したソケット1の接続方法における制御方法
および制御工程の表示では、ソケット1に通電が終了し
た後、コネクター3の取りはずすタイミングの表示がな
く、そのタイミングは通電終了後一定時間経過後に行う
必要があるが作業者の判断にまかされていた。
従って、ソケット1とプラスチック管2Aおよび2Bとの
融着部分が溶融中にコネクター3をコネクターピン13か
ら引き抜く恐れがあり、このとき融着部分に外力が加わ
り融着不良の原因となっていた。
本発明の目的は、プラスチック管継手の電気融着式接
続方法において、通電が終了したとき制御装置6のコネ
クター3をプラスチック管継手のコネクターピン13から
引き抜くタイミングの表示を行うことにより、融着不良
のない完全な接続が容易に行える電気融着式プラスチッ
ク管継手の接続方法を提供することである。
[問題点を解決するための手段] 本発明はプラスチック管と、内周面に電熱線を埋込み
この電熱線の両端各々と接続したコネクターピンを外周
面より突出させたプラスチック管継手とを電気融着式に
て接続する方法において、 まず第1番目に、温度センサーを用いて前記プラスチ
ック管継手への通電を制御するための制御装置に電源を
入れて、前記プラスチック管継手のコネクターピンと前
記制御装置のコネクターとを接続し、 第2番目に、前記温度センサーにより前記プラスチッ
ク管継手の通電以前の初期温度を測定して通電時間を設
定し、あるいは前記プラスチック管継手の通電による上
昇温度の最高温度を設定して、前記プラスチック管継手
に通電を開始し、 第3番目にこの通電の停止後に前記プラスチック管継
手の低下温度を測定し、前記コネクターの取りはずし可
能な温度を設定して前記低下温度が前記設定温度に達す
るかしないかの表示を行うことを特徴とする電気融着式
プラスチック管の接続方法である。この電気融着式プラ
スチック管の接続方法によれば、プラスチック管継手へ
の通電終了後、制御装置のコネクターとプラスチック管
継手のコネクターピンとの取りはずしのタイミングを音
声・ランプなどにて合図・表示しているので適切なタイ
ミングでその取りはずし作業ができ、その取りはずしが
早過ぎて融着不良を起したり、余分な待ち時間を費すこ
ともない。
[実施例] 本発明によるプラスチック管継手とプラスチック管と
の電気融着式接続方法の実施例を第1図〜第3図に示
す。第1図はプラスチック管継手1の一端部とプラスチ
ック管2との接続部分を示す縦断面図である。この第1
図におけるプラスチック管継手1の全体を第2図に縦断
面図で示す。
このプラスチック管継手1は[従来の技術]の欄で説
明したプラスチック管継手1とほぼ同様であるが、外周
面に熱電対挿入用の穴15を設けてある。
従ってプラスチック管継手1はプラスチック管継手本
体11、電熱線12、およびコネクターピン13が従来のプラ
スチック管継手1のそれらと全くあるいはほぼ同じであ
り、さらにプラスチック管2も[従来の技術]のプラス
チック管2と同じである。
次に第1図を用いて、本実施例の接続方法、制御方法
を説明する。
まず、第1番目にプラスチック管継手1に接続しよう
とするプラスチック管2を挿入する。これも従来の接続
のためのプラスチック管継手1へのプラスチック管2の
挿入と同じである。
第2番目にプラスチック管継手1のコネクターピン13
にコネクター3を挿入し、接続する。ここでコネクター
3はコネクターピン13と嵌合する穴を持つコネクターブ
ッシュ33とこのコネクターブッシュ33とほぼ平行な位置
関係にある熱電対31と、これらコネクターブッシュ33、
熱電対31を一体に保持するホルダー32とからなってい
る。
プラスチック管継手1にこのコネクター3を接続した
とき、コネクター3の熱電対31の下端部はプラスチック
管継手1の熱電対用の穴15のなかに入っており、その最
下端部は熱電対用の穴15の底に軽く接触している。
第3番目に制御装置本体(図示していない。)よりコ
ネクター3を通じプラスチック管継手1に通電する。
第4番目にプラスチック管継手1の温度が上昇し、設
定温度、本実施例である中密度ポリエチレンの管および
管継手の場合は約130℃に達したとき、通電を停止す
る。
第5番目にプラスチック管継手1への通電停止後この
低下温度を測定し、コネクター3のプラスチック管継手
からの取りはずしが可能な温度、すなわち外力を加えて
も融着部の接合状態に影響をあたえない温度、本実施例
である中密度ポリエチレンの管および管継手の場合約60
℃に達したとき、この表示、すなわち温度表示あるいは
この温度に基ずくブザー・音声などの合図を出す。
6番目にコネクター3をプラスチック管継手1よりは
ずして接続は完了する。
以上説明したプラスチック管継手1とプラスチック管
2との接続方法における第2番目から第5番目までの制
御装置の動作フローを説明したのが第3図である。まず
制御装置に電源を入れて、制御装置の電源スイッチを手
動でONにすると自動的に電源ランプが点灯する。次にノ
ーヒューズブレーカー(NFB)を手動でONする。
ここで前記した接続方法の第2番目で説明したコネク
ター3がコネクターピン13に接続しているか、さらに熱
電対31および電熱線12に断線がないかを確認し問題がな
ければ準備完了の表示を行う。この表示はランプ点灯あ
るいはブザーあるいは「準備完了」との音声でもよい。
もし異常があれば断線接続エラーの表示を行う。
この第3図において、 内動作は手軽にて行う動作を示し 内動作は自動的に行われる動作を示している。
準備完了の表示が行われた後、手動にてスタートスイ
ッチをONにするとスタートランプが点灯し熱電対31がプ
ラスチック管継手1の初期温度を自動的に測定し、この
温度に適した通電終了温度を設定する。引続き自動的に
タイマーが作動しスタートしこれと同時に通電が開始し
通電ランプが点灯する。このときNFBが当初のONの状態
のままであるかないか、判定しONであれば次のステップ
へ、ONでなければ、すなわちOFFであれば電流異常ラン
プが点灯する。
前記したNFBがONのときの次のステップは、プラスチ
ック管継手1に流れる電流値が大き過ぎたり小さ過ぎた
りしていないか、すなわち、ある設定幅内に入っている
かの確認である。電流値がある設定幅内に入っておれば
次のステップへ、入っていなければ電流トラブルランプ
が点灯する。前記「次のステップ」はプラスチック管継
手1が通電終了温度約(130℃)に達したかをチェック
し通電終了温度に達していなければ熱電対の故障等の異
常による限界時間オーバーをチェックし、限界時間に達
した場合通電を停止し、時間異常ランプを点灯する。
限界時間に達していなければ、通電終了温度に達する
まで通電を続けてから通電停止する。
通電停止と同時に通電ランプを消灯しかつ、ブザー等
の音を出し通電終了の表示を行う。また、ブザーの代り
に「通電終了しました」などの音声でもよい。
つづいて冷却中のランプを点灯し、プラスチック管継
手1がコネクターを取りはずしてもよい温度約(60℃)
に達したかを確認し、YESであれば冷却中のランプを消
灯し、コネクター取りはずしOKのランプを点灯し、同時
にブザー等の音を出して知らせる。NOであればYESにな
るまで待ってこの後の冷却中のランプ消灯およびコネク
ター取りはずしOKのランプ点灯などを行う。
以上説明した本実施例のプラスチック管継手1とプラ
スチック管2との電気融着式接続方法によれば、プラス
チック管継手1に通電を開始するための準備であるコネ
クター3とコネクターピン13との接続の確認を行い表示
しているので、準備不完全のまま通電することがない。
さらにプラスチック管継手1への通電終了を音声によっ
て表示しているので離れていたり、明るい日中でも通電
終了の確認がし易い効果がある。さらに熱電対によって
直接プラスチック管継手の初期温度を測定する為、温度
の設定は、誤差が小さく正確であり、適正な通電制御が
出来、完全な融着が容易に行えるようになった。
さらに通電終了後にプラスチック管継手1とプラスチ
ック管2との融着部の接合強度が充分確保できる温度ま
で冷却したことを確認してからコネクター3のプラスチ
ック管継手1からの取りはずしが出来るので、融着不良
の心配もなく、待ち過ぎの心配もない。
以上説明した実施例はソケット型管継手で2本のプラ
スチック管2を直線に接続するプラスチック管継手1で
あったが、90℃或いは45℃方向にプラスチック管2を曲
げて接続するエルボ、さらに3本のプラスチック管2を
接続するT、あるいはパイプから枝管を取り出す際に用
いるサドル型のプラスチック管継手の場合も以上説明し
た実施例と同様の方法で接続することができ、その効果
も同じである。また、本実施例で用いた熱電対をサーミ
スタに代えてもよく、同様の効果がある。
本実施例の接続方法は、プラスチック管継手1の初期
温度を測定し、プラスチック管継手1への通電を終了す
る温度を設定したが、他にプラスチック管継手1の初期
温度は測定しないで、通電終了温度を設定する場合があ
る。
さらに本実施例の接続方法では通電の終了温度を設定
したが、他の接続方法として、通電前のプラスチック管
継手の温度を測定して通電時間を設定してもよい。
この場合、通電停止後の制御工程は本実施例と同様で
ある。
[発明の効果] 以上説明したとおり、本発明によるプラスチック管継
手とプラスチック管の電気融着式接続方法はプラスチッ
ク管継手への通電終了後、コネクター取りはずしOKのタ
イミングを音声・ブザー・点灯などにより表示するの
で、この取りはずしが早過ぎたり、待ち過ぎたりするこ
とがなく、完全なプラスチック管とプラスチック管継手
の融着が容易に行える効果がある。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】プラスチック管と、内周面に電熱線を埋込
    みこの電熱線の両端各々と接続したコネクターピンを外
    周面より突出させたプラスチック管継手とを電気融着式
    にて接続する方法において、 まず第1番目に、温度センサーを用いて前記プラスチッ
    ク管継手への通電を制御するための制御装置に電源を入
    れて、前記プラスチック管継手のコネクターピンと前記
    制御装置のコネクターとを接続し、 第2番目に、前記温度センサーにより前記プラスチック
    管継手の通電以前の初期温度を測定して通電時間を設定
    し、あるいは前記プラスチック管継手の通電による上昇
    温度の最高温度を設定して、前記プラスチック管継手に
    通電を開始し、 第3番目にこの通電の停止後に前記プラスチック管継手
    の低下温度を測定し、前記コネクターの取りはずし可能
    な温度を設定して前記低下温度が前記設定温度に達する
    かしないかの表示を行うことを特徴とする電気融着式プ
    ラスチック管の接続方法。
