Abstract

PURPOSE:The titled composition, containing an extract of a beehive of long-legged wasps, wasps or hornets or Vespula lewisi Lameron, and useful for preventing and treating gingivitis. CONSTITUTION:A composition for the oral cavity containing an extract of a beehive of long-legged wasps, or hornets of Vespula lewisi Lameron. The inflammation of gingivitis is supposed to be caused by action of oral bacteria in the sordes on teeth, i.e. action of collagenase, protease, hyaluronidase, etc. derived from bacteria on the periodontal tissues or local cause of action of amines, endotoxins etc. derived from bacteria or systemic causes such as nutritional conditions or diabetes, etc. The composition containing the extract of the beehive exhibits particularly effective action on reduction and suppression of periodontal inflammations. Water or an organic solvent, e.g. methanol or ethanol, is used as a solvent for extracting the beehive. The amount of the extract to be incorporated is preferably 0.001-10wt% based on the total composition, and particularly preferably 0.01-5wt% from the viewpoint of anti-inflammatory effect and feeling of use.

ルヘキシシンに代表される殺菌剤;リゾチーム、アミラ
ーゼ、デキスト2ナーゼ、ムタナーゼ等の酵素;e−ア
ミツカゾロン酸、トラネキサム酸等の止血剤;その他ア
ラントインや食塩等が用いられてきたが、禾だ充分な効
果は得られていない。

、口腔用組成物に特定の蜂の果(露蜂房)の抽出物を配
合すれば、歯肉炎の予防、治療に有効な口腔用組成物が
得られることを見出し本発明を完成した。

エーテル等の有機溶媒が使用される。また、水−アルコ
ール(メタノール、エタノール等)、水−アセトン、等
の混合溶媒も使用できる。これらの抽出溶媒の中で、特
に水−エタノール混合溶媒が好ましい。

剤;カルがキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、カラギー
ナン、ヒドロキシエチルセルロース等の粘結剤;ラウリ
ル硫酸ナトリウム、ラウロイルサルコシン酸ナトリウム
、N−アシルグルタミン酸塩、ショ糖脂肪酸エステル等
の界面活性剤;グリセリン、ソルビトール、ゾロピレン
グリコール等の湿潤剤が挙げられる。また、更に、他の
薬効剤を併用することもでき、例えば、各種フッ素化合
物、アルミニウムアラントイネート、グリチルリチン酸
塩、ヒノキチオール、クロルヘキシシン、リゾチーム、
デキストラナーゼ、食塩、アズレン、ビタミンE等を添
加配合することができる。
