Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はプラグふ−よびジャックからなるコネクタに関
し、特にプラグ又はジャックを逆転した状態での挿入を
不能とする極性付コネクタの改良に関するものである。
従来の極性付コネクタを第１図に示す。
プリント板３の端部に図示しない多数のピンからなるプ
ラグコンタクトを備えたプラグ２が装着され、その内部
に各プラグコンタクトに対応するジャック孔（図示しな
い）を有するジャック１が矢印のように挿入される。
６はフラットケーブルである。このように雄コンタクト
として形成されたプラグ２の一内測面上に極性キー５が
突出して設けられる。
雌コンタクトとして形成されたジャック１の測面上には
上記極性キー５と対応する位置に案内溝４が設けられる
。
以上のような構造によりジャック１が正常方向位＠（図
の状態）の場合にはジャック１はプラグ２内に嵌入し、
ジャック１が逆転した場合（水平面内で１８０°回転し
た状態）に極性キー５によりジャック１の嵌入を阻止し
ている。
しかしながら、従来の極性付コネクタにち・いては、極
性キー５の先端部が丸味を帯びて形成されているためジ
ャック１を逆転した場合であっても過度な力でジャック
１をプラグ２内に押圧すればジャック１はプラグ２の側
壁を押開いて内部に進入し極性付コネクタとしての機能
を果さなくなる場合があった。
本発明は上記の点に鑑みなされたものであって、プラグ
のジャックへの誤挿入を完全に防＋ｈした信頼性の高い
極性付コネクタの提供を目的とする。
このため本発明に係る極性付コネクタにわいては、雄雌
コネクタが誤挿入される場合に極性キー先端部の突起が
挿入コネクタ前面に形成した孔と係合し誤挿入が防止さ
れる構造を特徴とするものである。
第２図は本発明に係る極性付コネクタの一実施例の刷視
図である。
プリント板３の端部に多数のピン１３（第６図参照）か
らなるプラグコンタクトを備えたプラグ２が装着され、
その内部に各ピン１３に対応するジャック孔８（第３図
参照）を有するジャック１が矢印のように挿入される。
６はフラットケーブルである。
このように雄コンタクトとして形成されたプラグ２の一
内測面上に極性キー５が突出して設けられる。
雌コンタクトとして形成されたジャック１の測面上には
上記極性キー５と対応する位置に案内溝４が設けられる
。
極性キー５の先端部にはジャック１の挿抜方向に対向し
て突出する突起１２が設けられる。
ジャック１を逆転した場合のこの突起１２に対応する位
置のジャック１の前面には雌コネクタ挿入防止用の孔９
（第３図、第５図、第６図参照）が設けられる。
このような本発明に係る極性付コネクタにわいて、ジャ
ック１を正常方向（第２図、第５図の状態）にして挿入
すれば第５図に示すようにプラグ２の極性キー５がジャ
ック１０案内溝４内に嵌入してコネクタ接続が遠戚され
る。
一方、ジャック１を逆転した場合には、第６図に示すよ
うに、極性キー５の突起１２がジャック１の孔９内に係
入するためジャック１はプラグ２内に進入できない。
従って、このとき過度な力でジャック１を押圧しても、
従来の場合のようにジャック１がプラグ２の剛壁を押開
いて内部に進入することはなく、ジャック１が逆転され
た誤挿入は確実に防止される。
以上述べた如く、本発明は極めて簡単な構成により誤挿
入が確実に防止でき、その実用上の効果は著しいもので
ある。
なあ・、上記実施例はプラグ２のコンタクト１２とター
ミナル１１が直角をなすライトアングルタイプのコネク
タであって、ジャック１はプラグ２の極性キー５を設け
た剛壁わよびプリント板３間に両倶０から案内されつつ
挿入される。
一方、プラグのピンとコネクタ接続端子が一直線上に配
置されるストレートタイプのコネクタの場合にはプラグ
２は第４図に示すようにプリント板３に対し垂直に設置
されろ。
従って、この場合にはジャック１のジャック孔８（第３
図）を確実にプラグ２のピン１３に対応してジャック１
をプラグ２に案内するための側壁１０を設けることが必
要である。
このようなｆａｌｌ壁１０の設置によりストレートタイ
プのコネクタの場合にジャック１が極性キー５を設けた
剛壁と反対方向にずれてプラグ２に装着されることはな
くなり極性キー５の機能が確実に発揮され誤挿入は確実
に防１」二される。

明に係る極性付コネクタの一実施例の斜視図、第３図は
本発明に係るコネクタのジャックの前面の斜視図、第４
図は本発明に係る極性付コネクタの別の実施例の斜視図
、第５図および第６図は各々ジャックの正常状態勢よび
逆転状態の場合の本発明に係る極性付コネクタの断面図

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. １ 雄・雌コネクタに卦ける一方コネクタの内側面に他
    方コネクタの誤挿入を防止する極性キーを突出させて設
    けた極性付コネクタにかいて、前記極性キーの先端部に
    前記他方コネクタ挿抜方向へ突出する突起を設け、前記
    他方コネクタには、正常挿入を可能とするための極性キ
    ーの案内溝を設けるとともに前記他方コネクタを逆転し
    た場合の該他方コネクタ前面の前記極性キー突起対応位
    置に該突起が係合する誤挿入防止用の孔を設けたことを
    特徴とした極性付コネクタ。
