Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は非極性分mW脂フィルムの溶着方法に関し、詳
しくは非極性の合成樹脂フィルムから袋等を製造するに
あたり、高周波またはマイクロ波により局部的に加熱し
て該フィルムを溶着する方法に関する。
?リエチレン、ボリプaピレンなどの合成樹脂フィルム
を用いて袋等を製造する場合、該フィルムの溶着方法と
しては発熱体を用いる熱溶着が最も一般的であるが、不
均一加熱による溶着ムラが発生したり、特に厚肉フィル
ムにおいて加熱時間が長いなど生産性に劣るという欠点
がある0そこで、発熱体を用いて熱伝導により加熱する
外部加熱方式による溶着に代る方法として高周波または
マイクロ波により合成樹脂フィルム自体を発熱させる内
部発熱方式が近時性なわれるようになった。この内部発
熱方式による溶着は、熱溶着すべき部分を効率よく発熱
させることができるため、均一な溶着が可能であり、し
かも溶着部分のシール強度が大きいという特色がある。
しかし、ポリエチレン、ポリプリピレンなどの非極性合
成、*脂は電気的内部発熱が十分でないため、通常の方
法では内部発熱方式による溶着を適用することができな
い。
そのため、■非極性合成樹脂の少なくとも片面に誘電損
失係数の大きなシート状材料を積層して高周波を照射す
る方法、■二枚のフィルムの溶着すべき面に誘電損失係
数の大きな物質を含む接着層を形成する方法が提案され
ている。しかし、前者は局部的加熱が困難であるという
欠点があシ、後者は製袋用素材として一般的な筒状フィ
ルムの溶着ができないこと、袋等を製造した場合に内面
に接着層という異種材料が入るため衛生上の立場などか
ら好ましくないこと等の欠点がある。しかも・平型など
の複η1゛な形状の溶着部を有する場合に適さないもの
であった。
本発明の目的は上記のような欠点を解消した非極性合成
樹脂フィルムの溶着方法を提供することである。
本発明は非極性合成樹脂フィルムの溶着に際して該フィ
ルムの片面もしくは両面の溶着部外面に極性物質を塗布
し、高周波またはマイクロ波を照射後、加圧することを
特徴とする非極性合成樹脂フィルムの溶着方法である。
本発明における非極性合成樹脂フィルムとは、ポリエチ
レン、ポリプロピレンなどのポリオレフィンやポリエス
テル、ポリカーボネート、ポリスチレンなどの合成樹脂
のフィルムを意味し、これらは高周波やマイクロ′波の
照射によって溶着することができ難いものである。
したがって、本発明では該フィルムの溶着を行なうに際
して該フィルムの片面もしくは両面の溶着部外面に極性
物質を塗布するのである。ここで極性物質としては既知
のものを任意に使用でき、たとえばポリ塩化ビニル、ポ
リ塩化ビニリデン。
ポリビニルアルコール、メラミン樹jl17−’/−ル
樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、尿素樹脂などの合成樹脂;グリセ
リン、エチレングリコール、ジエチレングリコールなど
の多価アルコール類;チタン酸バリウム、チタン酸カリ
ウム、シラス粉末、クレー。
酸化チタン、硫酸アルミニウムなどの無機物質等があり
、これらを単独であるいは組合せて用いることができる
上記の極性物質は非極性合成樹脂フィルムの片面もしく
は両面であって溶着を行なうべき個所の外面に塗布する
。たとえば筒状フィルムから製袋する場合、一定の間隔
で該フィルムの巾方向に該極性物質を帯状に塗布する。
また、手袋などの複雑な形状のものにあっては極性物質
によって平型を描くように該フィルムに塗布する。この
ように極性物質を部分的に塗布する場合、該極性物質を
単独で塗布してもよいが、上記フィルムに印刷をする際
に同時に塗布することもできる。
非極性合成樹脂フィルムに極性物質を部分的に塗布した
後、該フィルムに高周波またはマイクロ波を照射する。
高周波またはマイクロ波の周波数範囲については5MH
おからAOOOOMH,が適当であり、好ましい範囲は
1000〜10000輩■、である。
照射時間は使用する極性物質の種類、高周波またはマイ
クロ波の周波数などを考慮して適宜決定すればよい。こ
の照射によって極性物質を塗布した部分に相当する非極
性合成樹脂フィルムは発熱して溶着する〇 高周波またはマイクロ波を照射した後、非極性合成樹脂
フィルムを加圧して溶着をより完全なものとする。加圧
は適宜の手段で行なえばよく、たとえば加圧p−ル間を
通過させる等の手段を採用することができる。
本発明の方法によれば、非極性合成樹脂フィルムの溶着
シールの均一性が高く、シかもシール強度の高いものが
得られる。また、フィルムの溶、着を希望する部分のみ
に極性物質を塗布するものであり1単純な形状の溶着か
ら複雑な形状の溶着まで任意に行なうことができる。し
かも、溶着すべき部分に接着剤を用いたり、他の材料を
挾持させる等の処置は全く不要であり、衛生的にすぐれ
ているはかシか作業上も簡便であるという利点を有して
いる。さらに、高周波やマイクロ波の使用によシ製袋作
業等を高速度かつ連続的に行なうことができる。特に、
本発明の方法は筒状フィルムから製袋する場合に適して
いる。
次に本発明の実施例を示す。
実施例1 低密度ポリエチレン(折径5 Q Q a 、厚み50
μ)の筒状ライルム原反の片面にフェノール樹脂塗料を
500mピッチで巾311m1になるように塗布した。
また、該塗布部分よシ511II+の位置にミシン目を
付シタ。次イで、2450MB、のマイクロ波を照射し
たのち該フィルムをロールで圧着し、さらに巻取りロー
ルに巻取ることによって連結したポリエチレン製袋状物
を得た。この袋状部の溶着部分は均一に溶着されており
、しかもそのシール強度は非常に高かった。
実施例2 エンゲス加工された低密度ポリエチレンフィルム(巾2
701+Im 、 厚み50μ)を2枚重ね、その一方
のフィルムの外面にチタン酸バリウムを含有するメラミ
ン樹脂塗料を用いて平型を描くように塗布した。次いで
、2450MH,のマイクロ波を照射したのち該フィル
ムをロール圧着した。しかる後、この7・rルムを平型
状に打抜くことによI)溶着強度のすぐれたポリ手袋を
得た。
