Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明ＦｉｖＩｌエンジンのシリンタフロックに関し、
その目的は、シリンダブロックの剛性を重量増を極力小
さくして高め、変形を防止したことである。　　　　　
　　　　　　　　　　１Ｖ型エンジンのシリンダプロ・
ツクは填１図に示すようにブロック本体１の上＠に所要
角度で左右に傾斜する一対のバンク２が一体に′鋳造さ
れている。とのｖｍエンジンのシリンダブロックの場合
、バンク２で発生するシリンダ軸［７ｊ向の爆発力の影
譬によってブロック本体ｌ並びにバンク２が左右方向に
変形している。この変形に対処するＫけシリンダブロッ
ク全体の鋳物肉厚を増大すれば剛性が得られることは常
職であるが、重重が著しく増加するととになり好ましい
ことで／ｆｉ々い。
そこで、紬記爆発力による変形形態を究明しｔ結果、ク
ランクシャフトのジャーナル部の軸９３を保持している
隔４１４とリブ５が形成されている部位のブロック本体
ｌとバンク２との屈一連続部６に弱点があり、この屈曲
連続部６を中心ｆしてブロック本体ｌとバンク２とが相
対変位することが解明された。
本発明は１紀の変形部位の解明により、この変形部位の
剛性を基本的な設計を改変することなく、且つ１量増加
を極力小さくして確保し、従来の問題点を一挙に解決し
たものであれ１以下その実施例について第２図によって
説明する。
すなワチ、クランクシャフトのジャーナル部の軸受３を
保持しているリブ５の幅員Ｔを隔壁４の厚さｔの３〜５
倍としたものである。
例えば、シリンダ全容１１７１３３０馬力のＶ型８気筒
ディーゼルエンジンの場合、隔壁４の標準的な厚さｔけ
６ｒｒＩＡであり、従来ではリブ５の幅員Ｔも同一寸法
であるが、本発明では１８〜３ｏ−の幅員Ｔとするもの
である。
このようｆ本発明け、シリンダ軸線方向の爆発力による
ｖ１１エンジンのシリンダプロ・ツクの変形を、その変
形発生部位に形成されているクランクシャフトのジャー
ナル部の軸受を保持している゛リブの幅員を従来の３〜
５倍に増幅する簡単な構造により剛性を増大して防止し
、大きな設計変更並びに重量を増すことな〈従来の問題
を解消せしめた格別な効果を有している本のである。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 隔壁とリブとＫよりクランクシャフトのジャーナル部軸
    受を保持しているＶ型エンジンのシリンダブロックにお
    いて、前記リブの幅員を隔壁の肉厚寸法の３〜５倍とし
    たことを特徴とするｖ型エンジンのシリンダブロック。
