Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase displayed information, by coating the reinforcing part of a grid with a fluorescent substance. CONSTITUTION:Electrons emitted from a filament 4 are accelerated by a positive voltage applied to grid 5, so that the electrons collide against fluorescent substance portions 9a, 10a. The fluorescent substance portions 9a, 10a are patterned as characters or figures to display some information. A transparent electroconductive film 2 is provided on the inside surface of a glass lid 2. Insulating films 7a-7c, anode wirings 6a, 6b, anodes 8a, 8b and the fluorescent substance portions 9a, 10a are provided on a bottom plate 12 of glass. The grid 5 is located between the glass lid 2 and the bottom plate 12. The reinforcing parts 51, 57 of the grid 5 are also coated with a fluorescent substance.
