Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and production yield by providing a plurality of thin breaks where index stripes are exposed through removing the metal back film in the beam scanning direction on the upper edge and other parts of the service screen of a metal back film provided on the inside surface of a panel. CONSTITUTION:Index stripes 4 are provided on the inside surface of a panel 1 other than color primaries phosphor stripes 2, a metal back film 3 is provided on the inside surface, and a plurality of thin breaks 8 of the metal back film 3 where the metal back film is removed in the beam scanning direction and index stripes are exposed on the upper edge and other parts of the service screen 7, which breaks are formed when the metal back film is evaporated by masking the parts to be breaks. Thus the metal back film is strong, index stripes can be formed easily, and the production yield and reliability can be improved.
