Abstract

PURPOSE: To synchronize the positions of electron beam scanning easily and to improve the performance of tube by stripewise arranging the first to the third color phosphors so that the first one is centered and other two ones are symmetrical with respect to the first one, and providing the index phosphor to every second back of the guard-band-coated belt.
CONSTITUTION: The color phosphors of R, G and B are coated beltwise at regular intervals on the surface of the aluminum metal pack 22. Three phosphors are arranged so that the R, for example, is centered, G and B are symmetrical with respect to the R. Also the guard band is coated on the other face of metal pack, on which the electron beam is landed, along the belt area corresponding to the spacing of respective phosphors. Moreover, every second R is selected, the corresponding before guard band and behind guard band of R are alternately coated with the index phosphor 24 to 26. In this way, a stable index signal can be obtained.
