Abstract
PURPOSE: To suppress and prevent the floating and concentrating of sludge and improve the sludge concentrating rate by aerating the sludge prior to settling and concentrating, detecting the concn. of the waste gas released from the sludge, and controlling the flow rate of aeration according to the concn. of the waste gas.
CONSTITUTION: The concn. of the carbon dioxide in the waste gas of aeration is detected with a carbon dioxide concn. detector 16, and its signal is fed to a controller 17. In the controller 17, the target value of the carbon dioxide concn. set with a setter 18 is inputted as a signal and the deviation with the detection signal of the carbon dioxide concn. is operated. According to this deviation, the controller such as PID operates to feed a control signal to a converter 19 which converts this to the signal necessary for controlling a blower 4. Thence, the discharge rate (aeration rate) of the blower is increased or decreased according to this signal, whereby the concn. of the carbon dioxide in the waste gas of aeration is so controlled as to be maintained at around the prescribed value.
