Abstract
PURPOSE: To operate a heater continuously for increasing its life and to decrease its capacity, by providing a 4-way valve connecting its 2-directions to a regenerating- gas supply-pipe and other 2-directions to a heater and a regenerator in series for switching a path of regenerating gas.
CONSTITUTION: Regenerating gas is passed through a pipe 3, a path (c) of a 4-way ball valve 8 and a pipe 6 and heated by a heater H, and is cooled by heat exchanging with a heat regenerating material of a heat regenerator R and then is sent to an adsorption tower through a pipe 7, path (d) and a pipe 4 to be used as a pre-cooling gas, at the pre-cooling stage of the adsorption tower. Next the regenerating gas from the pipe 3 is passed through a path (a), the pipe 7 and the regenerator R, by switching the valve 8, to be heated by the heat of said heat regenerating material stored at the stage of pre- cooling, and is heated still more by the heater H to be sent to the adsorption tower through the pipe 6 and a path (b), thereby using it as a regenerating gas for heating, at the heat regeneration stage of the adsorber. Thus the duplicated effect compared with the case of using a heater alone is obtained by adding the heat stored in the regenerator R at the pre-cooling stage and the heat from the heater H, and then the heater is continuously operated through the pre-cooling stage and heat regenerating stage.
