Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize energy effectively and regenerate drying capacity efficiently by a method wherein high temperature gas, the gas to be dried, is flowed through a desiccant under a saturated condition at a gas dehumidifier, and the desiccant is heated and regenerated.
CONSTITUTION: Gas is dehumidified and a desiccant is regenerated alternately in the dehumidifying towers 1, 2 of a gas dehujidifier. The gas to be dried is changed into a high temperature due to adiabatic compression by means of a compressor, and one portion is branched by means of a valve 6 from an inlet 13, and dehumidified to a high degree in the tower 1 through a gas cooler 7 and a drain separator 9. Meanwhile, branched gas A with a high temperature heats the desiccant under a saturated condition in the tower 2 through valves 3, 5. The moisture of the desiccant evaporated by the heating is cooled by means of a gas cooler 8, and joins with the gas B. Thus, an apparatus for heating the desiccant is unnecessitated, and the desiccant is efficiently regenerated for a short time.
