Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a battery to be easily impregnated with an electrolyte, and rationalize the frequency and the time of electrolyte pouring, by pouring the electrolyte from the inner bottom of a battery case by means of an injector before the battery case is sealed. CONSTITUTION:A double separator 1 is interposed between a positive electrode 2 and a negative electrode 3, and these layers are coiled into a spiral shape to obtain a generation element, which is inserted in a battery case 4. An end 6 of a needlelike in jector 5 is placed on the inner bottom surface of the case 4, and an electrolyte 7 is poured from the lower part of the case 4 before the case 4 is sealed. Owing to the above constitution, the electrolyte 7 constantly flows upward from the bottom of the case 4 through the electrodes 2 and 3 and the separator 1, the substitution between the electrolyte 7 and air contained in the case 4 is well performed, and the capillarity phenomenon is accelerated. Conseqnently, a sealed battery can be rapidly impregnated with the electrolyte 7, and both the frequency and time of the electrolyte pouring can be reduced.
